It was probably the worst looking show that MAPPA has put out in recent memory.
Maybe the manga is better, but the anime had shit pacing. Flashbacks to setup MC and FL? Sure.Constant extensive flashbacks for other characters (who will probably bite it) instead of moving the plot forward? For what purpose.
No major villain.CSM has Makima.JJK has Sukuna.Even KnY has Muzan (bonus points for looking like MJ).Now try to remember anything about the plant niggas besides being arrogant douchebags. Their powers were bland and forgettable - just generic assholes with regeneration. Not having one consistent villain really hurts the legacy of your story.

>>282471104I throughly enjoyed Season 1 and I'm waiting for S2 as it should cover the rest of the manga, but I can see why. The beginning is very slow and mostly down to earth, focusing more on swordsmanship and ninja tricks over shounen superpowers. It's also very violent and gory at times which definitely filtered a few people. Watching it I kept thinking that's how I wanted KnY to be, but that one was definitely more colorful and better animated so sadly it won in the end.

Its not really a typical battle shonen and it has a lot of twists. Honestly, most of the reason you read the manga is for the gorgeous art. The story isn't anything to write home about
