I occasionally feel like that too but then I end up watching something I very obviously don't enjoy very much. But generally I do tend to watch things I enjoy.

I grew up to enjoy romcoms a lot more. I used to only watch action/fantasy/sci-fi/drama/mystery but also a healthy dose of slice of life/CGDCT, like I'm from the generation that watch first season of Haruhi weekly with the yellow subs.

This thread and what OP wrote made me realize that all the shows I rated 10/10 were ones I watched when I was new to anime 12 years ago. Because of that, I wonder if I would like them less if I watched them today.

Sometimes I hate the ending of an anime/manga but not the whole thing. The one really bad anime is that one where a 16 year old girl runaway stays with that lone single man. It was just too much bullshit. The scene where he does dogeza to the mom was fucking preposterous. Such an erotic premise but too nonsensical and unrealistic in the writing.
