It seemed like they could have added a bit more story, or a time skip bonus segment showing what happened to everyone. It didn't feel satisfying not knowing what happened to certain characters.
Yet, I think the mothership going away felt like the conclusion it needed to express its point the clearest. That is what I got from it at least. Ending the last episode on a gag was kind of funny and fitting too.

I remember that I liked it, I would say that this is ABe's weakest anime but I still think it's good, I find it curious to see an anime making jokes with jeets in the early 2000s.
