the fact that isekai didn't die but is actually as strong as ever just shows how many low IQ barely sentient anime watchers there are out there
>>
>>282509578
Yeah that's pretty much a given
>>
>>282509578
Cases like this are actually very engaging.
Very rarely we get a reverse Isekai with the fantasy or past story character being sent into the modern world.
Besides, the fact is that even outside for anime, Isekai is a concept that can be amazing.
Like there's literally of alternative story books based on having some technology or group of people sent into the past or alternative realities to cause changes and see how that affect the world.
It's simply a concept THAT good. Even if you dislike it, it won't change the potential it has
>>
>>282510729
But that's not what we get
Isekai unfortunately is not actually about characters getting sent to other worlds, it's a collection of tropes and stylistic choices that can all be identified by the commonality of the people who consume works that contain them
Which is a roundabout way of saying if something doesn't feel like Isekai it probably isn't even if it technically is
>>

You are not wrong.
What I think, though, and I wish.
It's that while the genre can evolve, I doubt Isekai will ever die. Because you literally have an infinite amount of possible combinations you can do with:
>Who's the MC? (Personality? A woman or a man?) What are his/her special abilities? Is he/she a human?
>How is the world? (In the cases that is not a medieval europa, or even if it is, the lore to make it more unique?)
>Is the series a fantasy or something else? Who's the target audience?
And interestingly, with time some combinations can get more or less popular creating subgenres. Like the villainess setting.
So basically, Isekai is immortal.
But with luck, time will make the
>MC with OP skill and a harem in medieval fantasy
Setting to die and be replaced by many other more unique settings and experimentation
>>
>>282509578
>more bitching over the fact that isekai is KING and dusted every single other anime genre out there.
Kneel, isekai is here to stay and its reign over anime will not be ending any time soon.
>>
>>282509578
Interesting. What do you think is anime for high IQ people?

S2 when? Need more Eiko in slutty outfits.

The real problem is Narou who allows all this garbage to get noticed.
>>

How long has it lasted compared to the reign of the "Battle Harem" genre? That might give us a clue to if another form of slop will replace it anytime soon.

The next step for isekai is reincarnating with your favorite fictional characters as your party members.
>>
>>282509578
Especially when school battle harem was the superior fad
>>
Isekai is better than battle shounen
>>
>>282513620
It wasn't. Your nostalgia is blinding you towards an era where editors and censored prevented authors from going anywhere.

Isekai is great and you are dumb nigger faggot. The truth was spoken. Latom.
>>
>>282509578
Isekai is dying and being replaced by real fantasy like Frieren and Dungeon Meshi thoughever.
>>
>>282513651
there was no censorship before but there is now
what the fuck are you talking about?

The girls were hotter than in isekai so it was better

In terms of LN, authors weren't allowed to actually go as much lewd as they wanted to.

>>282513682
Subjective and also disagree
>>

>make cartoons directed at children
>anon surprised these cartoons are low quality slop
anon you are part of the low IQ audience.
>>
>>282509578
Is this self-deprecation? That was obvious. What this proves is that there are a lot of "it's just a fad" midwits around.
>>
>>282510729
If you haven't seen it already, make sure you watch Re:creators. Its too heavy on the exposition in the second half, but in terms of concept its fucking great.

Dead Mount Death Play is probably more what you want as a reverse-isekai, though.
>>
>>282509578
i guess it shouldn't be surprising that writers who don't understand european culture will build a audience that understands it even less. it's all about separating fools from their money not the art form or refining anything

You can always watch HBO netflix mature woke slop instead.

So Japan overall? You can't omit trends until they've been exhausted. Isekai will die at some point.
