>>282509953there's just something about demon slayer that makes it incredibly easy to watch. whether you are low iq, high iq, young, old, black or white, anyone can enjoy it. that cannot really be said for most other shounens, maybe naruto if you cut the fillers and some unnecessary parts. demon slayer is short, consistently engaging, and filled with hype moments. it is simply a fun watch. at the same time, i can understand why some people resent it, since its popularity brings in a massive wave of new viewers, which might indirectly push studios to adopt censorship and safer choices just to keep ratings intact, all because one shounen became too popular
It makes me seethe because other studios might see how well the KnY movie is doing and start pumping out more movies instead of full seasons. I’m almost convinced this will happen, especially since the CSM movie will probably make Mappa a ton of money too.
