Anyway, according to the author's words, Q'tenlo is more of a "Bonus Area", there's a lot to gain if you go. Though the whole "Heavenly Empress" business kinda forced them to go there. Not to mention that back in the far past when siltvelt wasn't siltvelt yet, the shield hero had some point of contact with the heavenly empress of Q'tenlo, and then the waves had them think of a way to help future heroes if they came by.

But every time, EVERY TIME, whatever interesting idea is at hand is immediately discarded so we can get back to glazing Naofumi and Raphtalia as quickly as possible.Eventually even the author realized that Naofumi had acquired too many cheerleaders and the story has no teeth, so **Atla had to go** in a painfully contrived and unconvincing scenario. It doesn't work. It's just a never ending pile of harem members, idiots, one-dimensional villains, and dropped plot points. I've never even gone back to look up summaries of what happens in the remaining volumes. I already know the answer is "nothing".
