https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n55QVlBoDxIWhen you think about, berserk ended with miura death in a perfect place.Gatsu was able to recover caska memories, they now had a new family of friends to live happily in the elf island. They didn't had to leave that island, and the elf magic protected them from the curses.Meanwhile Grifith got what he wanted, he got to become a god and change the world to his wishes and bring a new third reich manifest destiny utopia. It wasn't the official death, but it was a better ending than miru risking it ruining it by dieing in the middle of a battle. Is a bittersweet ending, which is perfect for the tone of berserk.Gatsu and caska were able to die happy. And that's what matters.

>>282542597I've seen that said before, it feels a lot like an ending.Makes we wish for a middle ground between only one person owning the story and Winnie the Pooh blood and honey levels of anyone can do anything.Berserk If, Berserk: trial of heart, I dunno.
>>282542642I think Miura knew he didn't knew how to finish his story, he knew at the pace (this is my speculation) that he would die, because at his rate it would have taken another 20 years to be finished. That's why he procastinated.Because I think he left the story in a point where he was happy with the end. That's my speculation.
>>282542597Miura died right as moon boy transmogrified into griffisu, it was a cliffhanger
>>282542670I don't agree, he left the story hanging for nearly two decades well before he had to make any significant decisions and once he learnt he was going to die he rushed out elf island with intern help in an obviously unsatisfactory way and got to a pretty random arc with no payoff. I think he was trying to make a go of finishing it up but gave up as his health failed, I suspect the masters were done quite a while before his death. Really instead of doing any work on elf island he should've drafted the entire story, panels etc but he probably didn't have enough forewarning and no time to get a team he trusted with it.
>>282542857This is a common issue I see with mangakas, that they improvise the story instead of well, writing it as some PDF document or manuscript.
>>282542882I guess it is probably because they are artists first and foremost so don't have so much practice or inclination towards storyboarding. To be fair they are usually under so much pressure they probably have little time for it either.
>>282542670The fuck?He died at 54, that's really young, 20 to 30 years younger than any developed country's average healthy life expectancy. He came from a generation whose mangaka kept working in their 80s and 90s, so he expected to work well into his old age. Also>procastinatedwhat the fuck does this mean, the amount of chapters published slowed down because he was hyperautistic and when he learned how to use digital drawing his assistants had to stop him from working too much because he once spent 72 hours correcting one face pixel by pixel.
>>282542597weird how you left out the part where Griffith isn't even happy and just feels ennui all day every day except for a few seconds of loneliness every tine he switches back from Moon Boy
