Well as a show I didn't like watching this even a little bit. Some episodes were alright, episode 10 was cool of course, but even with two decent episodes and one actually good episodes even those are dragged down by the fact that I don't give a shit about any of the characters or the world, and that's certainly a me problem but the show doesn't do them any favors.But I didn't hate the show, it was at least trying something and it didn't feel like...mismanaged per se, something about it just prevents me from hating it as an actual piece fo art I guess, but once again as an animated television show I have literally nothing positive to say about it. I don't think I could give this show a numerical score, it's just nothing to me in a way.All the girls are really great singers at least, I think I liked all of their songs and I'll probably check some of them out in the future. Virtual Witch Phenomenon was especially great this episode.

Also it didn't actively make me angry so I was never hatewatching it, which puts it above some anime for me.Something like Aquarion M.O.E is a semi-recent show that not only had me come really close to dropping it multiple times but I was actively hating that show and getting mad watching it because of how bad it was. Kamitsubaki never came close to that.

Being, or at least feeling like an additional media to a setting I wasn't familiar with didn't help things either, but what setup was there was enough to see it maybe not as a standalone story, but more like a documentary about a weird world.
At times, this animu really reminded me of Toji no Miko, The SoulTaker, KagePro, and even 18If. I'm a sucker for this type of anime, so I would be lying if I say I didn't like this one. I'm not kidding when I say the second episode is one of my favorite episodes of this (almost over) season. I really liked the Isekai Cathedral.Sekai best girl. I really, really liked her.

I don't think it was amazing or anything, but as a big fan of idol anime, this was the most interesting one since Technoroid, and episode 10 was maybe the most audacious anime episode of the decade so far, so I'll always remember it fondly in spite of its flaws.

Honestly, it could have used more episodes in general; the climactic final battle with Maxwell is incredibly rushed.Still, I liked the Kamitsubaki anime enough to intrigued about the rest of the media in the franchise. Aside from the VN, there's stuff like an ARG and TRPG, apparently?
