The main draw of Asa's character was seeing how detailed her inner psyche was and how she had varied, detailed reactions to the stuff happening around her, to skip her moments of greatest transformation to relegate her to being a passive bystander pretty much killed her character. A heads-up for those of you planning to watch the movie, DO NOT watch the movie in 4DX. It's a terrible gimmick that distracts from the movie. Asa's early development and behaviors were relatable to many people in the early arcs of Part 2. In the craziness of a world filled with devils she was a sense of humanity and everyday life that readers could connect to, her inner monologs and struggles just clicked for most people. Which is why she is insanely loved, even if many of her behaviors are toxic, because people can relate to having that mindset at some point in their lives.Around the time she became a superstar devil hunter is when Part 2 became less about Asa, a schoolgirl in an unimaginable difficult situation, sharing the body with a devil. It became more about the War Devil sharing a body with a now empty shell of a character without any actual goals or complexity, with a thin layer of "development" draped ontop in the form of her making an appearance every 20 chapters. These appearances have almost always been something to just uplift Yoru more or an attempt to revive the dead corpse that is hers and Denjis relationship.People like early Part 2 Asa, not the one we know now. Asa is more loved because when she was actually important in the story she was well written and relatable.
