In the strip, Z.T. does exactly that and never does so, so he basically gets to have the hero moment of appearing selfless while not actually having to make any sacrifice like he wanted without the plot highlighting his sanctimoniousness. If you're a virgin who likes that kind of stuff then you'll probably think is better.The plot with fatso is also heavily toned down there, as in he willingly steps down there after realizing Kokoro's feelings and is never blindsided and fints a new love interest much earlier.
