When i was a little boy, my mom signed me up for Judo classes. I learned how to roll although with a tendency to skew to the sides. Then i was taught how to grapple. My opponent was two years younger and had far more strenght than my lithe underweight child body so i stuck a finger in his eye and pushed him back greatly. I was reprimanded by the teacher, and quit taking the classes shortly after because my pet hamster had died and i was too lazy and sad to participate afterwards. I never did dabble in martial arts again afterwards, but i find it interesting how even my own very limited experience with fighting aptly followed the philosophy demonstrated in Grappler Baki.

I do cardio though. Maybe i should try getting back into the swing of things?

I've seen some stories from martial arts fags on /fit/ about getting into situations like this at gyms and stories about how strong guys have to hold back because of opponents and learn nothing at the end of it and get hurt. This is why I read up on martial arts books instead of learning from some jobber I gotta pay 100$ a month for so I can play a sports game. Street fights are way different from the dojo stuff.

Btw Baki low diff this clown and thanks for sharing your story.

this is part of why i learned judo. you can end a fight while still maintaining great control of the situation. liability is kept to a minimum.
>Street fights are way different from the dojo stuff
you don't street fight and have not applied "dojo stuff" to a street fight.

nice double dubs, anyway I've heard boxing is the bare minimum a human male should have to not be humiliated like a bitch in a real world setting, assuming is the common shit (some retard thinks you are hitting on his chick on a party, tweaker tries to fuck with you on the street, etc), not putting weapons on the table because its a whole different level. I read pic rel and its so funny how it s basically, "you are going to get cut and probably die no matter what, but there are some nice tips on how to reduce the cutting, is better to run tho".

It's true, boxing is the bare minimum. Kickboxing and grappling are bad for beginners for similar but separate reasons. Since kickboxing requires kicking, someone who hasn't trained their center of gravity will easily get knocked off balance from a slight tap. Once they're on the ground, they'll get pummeled/stabbed/raped. Also, not being able to kick the head due to a lack of flexibility, and not being able to kick the groin due to a lack of speed/accuracy, means that an opponent can just move out of the way at best, or grab your leg at worst. Grappling requires knowing both your own center of gravity and the center of an opponent to be most effective. It also requires knowing how to use the opponent's weight against them. One of my favorite videos is a newfag trying to suplex an opponent in a street fight. All he did was lift up his opponent by leaning backwards... and then getting crushed under his opponent because he didn't know how to throw, slamming his own head against the pavement and knocking himself out.

With boxing, the principles are easy to understand: Sideways profile, circle and strafe, thumb outside of the fist, and aim for the head. Your feet stay on the ground, you keep throwing love taps to keep them from trying to grapple you, and as long as you don't do something stupid like throw a haymaker it's unlikely they're going to get you unless they rush you down. If they're rushing you, then they were going to kick your ass anyways. That's why you should purchase a knife and/or get firearm training if you live in a culturally diverse neighborhood. It takes a real coked out motherfucker to keep raising the temperature once a weapon is drawn on them, and you were definitely going to be pummeled/raped/murdered by that motherfucker if you couldn't at least put some lead in him.

But, as always, the easiest way to win a fight is to never be in one.

from what i hear, wing chun is horribly effective for street fights. i guess it makes sense since its a martial art designed for women getting jumped in the streets

Most Chinese kung fun is sadly dog poo or completely unachievable unless doing years of limb conditioning. I read that apparently the death blow to Chinese fist fighting was because most of the reliable scrolls with information about martial arts and how to properly perform and hone them was in Buddhist temples that were burnt to the ground during the cultural revolution.

So you can thank that faggot communist Mao for killing off any chance of a irl Retsu

It's wild how the cultural revolution killed off generations worth of information on both fighting and how to control your body and how nowadays the CCP has been trying for years to get people to think their version of Chinese Kung Fu will make you a Martial arts God
Every Country wants their own Martial arts
