Even though Tokyo Mew Mew is my favorite series, i'm starting to feel a bit disappointed with it, only because it doesn't have as much depth to it as I would like it toI don't watch stuff like One Piece or Demon Slayer (I've never watched a single episode of Demon Slayer, I just know stuff about it), but I know they have more depth than Mew Mew and I know stuff like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gargoyles, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach, Evangelion, Hunter x Hunter, Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, and others have more depth than Mew Mew. When it comes to shojo, Fruits Basket has a lot more depth than Mew Mew ever did

Tokyo Mew Mew would make a lot more sense if they just distilled the entire science fiction plot and didn't have the bizarre outfits and poses in battle. But then you'd just have something like Syakuganno Syana which is really comparable to Madoka in many ways but feels far more grounded because the “magical girls” there, as in flame hazes don't walk around in silly costumes finding the time to strike cringy Ginyu-Force tier poses in battle.
