The generic battles are probably the weakest part of the series. Regular kaijus just stand around and get themselves cut down or blown up by always superior weaponry. No survival instinct. This ends up making it ridiculous that humanity is incapable of finding where the kaijus are coming from on their planet to put a stop to them for good.

I don’t understand it’s success at all, it has to be fully carried by kikoru’s design and nothing else, feels like the world is half baked, humanity feels way too underpowered and divided for a world where they have been dealing with kaiju for centuries, kikoru’s dad dies happy about the new generation but honestly only Narumi, kikoru and mina are worth a shit, humanity needs to evolve way more to deal with intelligent kaiju at this point forget about japan being even remotely close to how we know it, every country should be a massive fortress with every citizen having some kaiju combat training, and that still wouldn’t be enough, scientists should be trying to replicate kaiju 8 by making some kind of process that genetically bonds someone to s kaiju a sentient kaiju armor is not enough, also space technology, Rods from god can help a lot in this fight as a last resort
Everything about the anime is rushed. From the plot, to the characters, to the fights, and ultimately the big bad. I don't know how to describe it, things just "happen" and nothing is fleshed out. No. 9 being the final boss feels so lame.

>>282612930Season 2 was always going to have this problem because it covers the weakest part of the manga, honestly, it's because the author had a lot of good ideas with solid setups, but they aren't fully followed through so the eventual payoffs fall flat. For example, Kafka and Kikoru being transferred to the first division is a good idea but not much is done with it aside from introducing Narumi, and it's just Kikoru who has a dynamic with him, Kafka doesn't really interact with them at all.

I think more could have been done inbetween events to show more of the world and kafka's progress in his controls of his kaiju form but it all feels rushed and unearned just to get to the fights but even then we dont see anything crazy.
