Honeslty, watching TV Hellsing is kinda pointless when you have the Hellsing OVA.
TV Hellsing is nice and fun while it follows the manga but drops off hard once the TV original content shows up. But even when TV Hellsing is following the manga, Hellsing Ultimate does those parts better as well.
TV Hellsing is just he lesser experience all around.

Factually wrong. The parts that were adapted by both, are infinitely better in TV. Ultimate is only worth it because it goes all the way and handles the action scenes better.

Ultimate is just so far off from the tone of the manga that I have to watch the '01 version even though it's mostly just Konaka's fanfic
it's just like Dracula where the source is easily the best version and nobody in history has been interested in adapting it properly

Ultimate is really sloppy and fails to capture the flair of the manga. A good adaptation would've kept the characters on model even when Hirano was too lazy to, because it's about the spirit of the work not tracing panels as they were.
