What did this man do to deserve an hour long flashback?
>>
>hour long
It's 20 minutes long, anon.

With how boring and unnecessary it was it felt like hour. Also it completely ruined their cool fight.

As someone who never read Demon Slayer watching the movie for the first time it was really jarring to go from a cool fight sequence to a sob story.
>>
Kill yourself shonen tourists.
>>
because the film has little substance without it. that's why it felt so forced and out of character
>>

The fight was already over

Instead of finishing it on some high note I had to watch 20min of backstory for a guy thats dead. That's very dumb. Give him a power up by the end but luckily power of love and memories made him kill himself. Amazing, how it must have look from perspective of Tanjiro and water guy, headless guy walking around and flailing his arms like headless chicken after nearly killing them. All to suddenly crumble to dust.

Probably felt amazing that he was finally dead?
>>
I liked it, that is my favorite part of demon slayer when the realized they were a man eating killing machine only for them to have a mental break. Kinda turns me on.

Literally every single villain in this dogshit has an extended flashback right before they die because the author is a retard incapable of doing characterization without it.
>>
>>282595948
Reminder that "flashbacks bad" is a meme for anime retards because Naruto constantly had flashbacks that literally just showed things they'd already animated previously to cut costs and catch people up that had viewing gaps.
>>

The problem is when the flashbacks happen not flashbacks in general.
>>

what the fuck are you smoking?
the flashback was shown in the best moment possible

Nah, the problem with the flashback is that it's not diegetic. The dude had no in-universe backstory. The author did nothing to make the viewer wonder why he became the evil punch guy. The main characters, the ones we care about, didn't have any reason to wonder either. So it's completely irrelevant. It's a diversion from the real story for ac hoc characterization of a guy who's not even in the story anymore because he's about to die. And because he had literally no characterization prior to that, so they have to introduce a bunch of characters only to kill them off to explain why he bad now. What for? I don't understand it from the storytelling perspective.

To see cute Koyuki you fag

Do you also need subway surfer playing in the background to hold your attention
>>

Don't you tell me who I care about in a work of fiction
>>
>>282604260
I didn't. I only criticized the storytelling. If you cared about his origin story, that's fine.
>>
>>282601540
It was about Tanjiro's answer to the fightfag survival of the fittest stuff to justify Rengoku, who is Akaza's foil in the story
