Is there anything like water magician but good?
The plot just drags on and blueballs me with no development or release.
I want things actually to happen, either fights, or deaths, or something.

God, it started of nice, but now I feel like I'm watching Shiled hero which went to utter shit after 1st season.

The first episode of this was the most boring thing I've ever seen, you couldn't pay me to watch another.
>>
Brownest thread I've seen in a while.

Try Sword Art Online
>>
>>282600388
I don't know, man. Most of the isekai are either slop or boring or boring slops. Maybe Mushoku Tensei, that is if you don't mind the MC being a degenerate.
>>
>>282601366
I did, was boring.
>>282601426
why is mushoku good?
>>
>>282601535
>why is mushoku good?
It's finished for one
>>
>>282601535
>why is mushoku good?
It might not be the best show ever but it's still at least a tier or two above all those Water Magicians, Online Shoppers or Best Alchemists.
>>
>>282601854
those last two are better than mushoku
>>
>>282601571
mmm I dunno that alone doesn't make a good anime.
>>282601854
>>282601944
water magician is so close to being good but it spends all time cock teasing and none of the payoff.
>>
I liked a lot his personality and the last episodes. He is both benevolent and dangerous D&D LVL 20 character. I like it.
>>
>>282602303
he pussied out on the fire mage at the end, and we got fucking nothing.
it's pathetic.
>>
>>282600388
Just keep rerolling anon, you don't spend too much time on an isekai, if doesn't have you hooked by the first episode or two, then it sure as hell isn't gonna get better if the author is clueless so early in.
Its trial and error, you'll find something good enough eventually if you run through everything.

>Just keep rerolling anon, you don't spend too much time on an isekai, if doesn't have you hooked by the first episode or two, then it sure as hell isn't gonna get better if the author is clueless so early in.
no no, that's the thing I liked it early on and still kinda do like it. its just.... there is no release, it teases things, does a tiny bit then goes back to teasing fun stuff that isn't happening.
If it was just shit id have dropped it and moved on.

Water Magician is boring because the protagonist is the strongest magician in the world at the end of the first episode.
There's no character progression and he never struggles. He doesn't do anything interesting either. He's going to level 1 adventurer school.

Mushoku is good because it has progression, struggle, and adventure.
Or at least the first season or two does. It turns boring in the later seasons.
>>
>>282603752
>Water Magician is boring because the protagonist is the strongest magician in the world at the end of the first episode.
so what? that in and of itself doesn't make something boring.
>Mushoku is good because it has progression, struggle, and adventure.
I have real life for that anon. I don't need anime for shit I get in real life.

I want my fantasy to be something real life doesn't give me.
>>
>>282603752
>Or at least the first season or two does. It turns boring in the later seasons.
It is only 2 seasons. But since both are 20+ episodes, I assume you're talking about the first season being good. The second one is the school one, where the MC joins the magic academy to fight with his erectile dysfunction....
>>
>>282603845
>so what? that in and of itself doesn't make something boring.
I agree, which is why I said other things too.
One Punch Man is an example of an OP protagonist in a good show because they play it for laughs and interesting things are happening.
If you're not gonna have character progression then you need to have something else.

>>282603897
I think they split the seasons into 2 parts or something so I think of the parts as seasons. But yeah, I'm saying it went downhill with the school.
>>
>>282604008
>One Punch Man is an example of an OP protagonist in a good show because they play it for laughs and interesting things are happening.
yeah, ive seen it
>If you're not gonna have character progression then you need to have something else.
Sure, and I don't really need the water magician to character progress, I just need him to do something, while all the other characters get progression.
>>
>>282600388
Not all isekai can be kino and do the OP protag right. It takes skill. Your average Smartphone Hero-spinoffs are only good for dozing off, I guess. It's against the law to rec so I can't tell you where the kino isekai is, sorry op.
>>
>>282604746
>It's against the law to rec
awwww maaaaaan....
How the hell am I supposed to find good stuff then? Surely it's not sane to wade through all the anime.

Failure Frame is really good, though it doesn't become exceptional until about the point where the manga is now.

Not an isekai but rather a tensei, but I recently picked up Maou Gakuin no Futekigosha and it definitely fits the bill of "things happening"

Like Re:Zero, it is a character study of the mc. Unlike Re:Zero, it has proper worldbuilding and characters. The character are real, the situations are uncomfortable, the show's great.
>>
>>282606620
>Like Re:Zero
Absolute WORST trash I have ever seen.
The kind where I want my time back.
>>
>>282606659
Did you hate the mc? Was that your issue?
>>
>>282606729
hated the characters.
Main character was quite horrible, but that alone didn't push me to hate it.
It's that there was no redeemable characters I enjoyed and many of the side characters were also iredeemable trash.
I think the two loli sisters, the bob hair cut, one blue and one red were that were even worse than the main character.
The "world" and mechanics were kinda okay with a maybe it will get good.
But all the characters are filth, and I suspect whoever wrote this shit is a broken piece of shit human being themselves.
>>
>>282605421
watched 2 episodes, good stuff my man!
>>
>>282600388

Cheap isekai of the season are always the same anon. It is unfortunate but most times you can just tell by the production quality. It´s a miracle so many of these even get done...
>>
>>282606799
Fair, I despised them as well, even after getting to know them better in the later seasons.
Aside from that, on MT, I did say:
>Unlike Re:Zero, it has proper worldbuilding and characters
So there's that for MT.
>>
>>282604824
Have you considered not watching isekai?
>>
>>282604824
The search is part of the fun
>>
>>282608866
>Have you considered not watching isekai?
isekai or not it matters little to me.
Besides, avoiding isekai these days is like trying to avoid anime having a school part in their anime.
All nip anime has school shit in it.
Probably because their life revolves around it completely.
>>282608927
ehhhh, no, time searching is wasted
>>
>>282600388
It's a super-slow-burn series even in the LNs. It's no surprise to me that the anime even beyond its obvious production issues after the akuma fight would not appeal to the "generation tick-tock" nor those who have been influenced by them, i.e. anyone who has been primed to have a non-existent attention-span.
>>
>>282600388
It felt like it suffered from anime season wind down more than anything, not enough episodes left to cover anything good but too many left to just end it after the dungeon rescue. They info dumped fire mage's generic background story and I just could not care at all if he got turned into a popsicle. Didn't really make sense for Ryo to threaten the princess either, seemed kinda bizarre for him to threaten someone that was KO'd and his friends were trying to protect from fire mage due to misunderstandings.

For real, what was Ryo there?
>"You've injured my friends? I will humiliate you then kill you."
>"Step aside Abel, I gotta kill this guy AND his girl that my friends got injured trying to protect."
>"I do not care in the slightest that this was a misunderstanding Abel, and I kill you too if you stand in the way."
>Proceeds to deny any wrongdoing afterwards
Can anyone who read the LN explain why Ryo went off the rails there? Did he think his cleric buddy died there or something? That sheer animosity seemed really out of left field for what we've seen of his character.
>>
>>282613046
>>"I do not care in the slightest that this was a misunderstanding Abel, and I kill you too if you stand in the way."
NTA, but you conveniently left out the part where had Ryo not appeared when he did, his friends would be dead and Oscar would get off scott free because of MUH diplomatics that at most would have resulted in some monetary compensation into the king's coffers for killing some of his citizen, sucks for his friends to be small fries, but hey at least they contribute to their kingdom with their small insignificant lives, amirite?
>>
>>282600388
if you couldn't tell exactly what kind of anime this was going to be from reading the blurb and tags, you have only yourself to blame
