I've noticed a growing trend this year where, when an anime season ends, it's immediately announced that there will be a new one. Are anime fans really so fragile that they need their "next season or no next season" anxiety assuaged immediately? Poor wittle baby Zoomer has to be protected from ever experiencing a negative emotion? Give me a fucking break, that's pathetic. I started watching seasonal anime in the late 2000s and we NEVER had our hand held like that. We just had to endure anxiety and uncertainty for months or years. Nobody fucking cared about our feelings, yet nowadays anime kids get "Don't worry baby Mommy will buy you a new season it's okay sweetpea" the second a season ends?

>director is excited the anime can continue
>say "look forward to new anime season!"
>polfag makes this entire wall of projection
>>
Taking years between seasons has always been retarded. Though even with immediate announcements they still take years between seasons. Most anime production is fucking awful and it's a bad format. And it's weird that these are often the same people decrying the monthly manga format where they can't stand that but they have no problem waiting 5 years for another 12 episodes of anime if it happens at all.

It's funny you're using a Precure image for this thread though since that franchise is endless constantly running seasons to make sure they don't lose even a second of little girls and manchildren otaku's interest in the franchise.
>>
Announcing it later is weeks or months of waning interest and lost opportunity
>>

Waiting so long isn't good, but when it's used for advertising the source they might want to spread that out. It's better for some types of series than others though, and if you need to know what happened earlier waiting too long is a bad idea. If there's a plan to adapt everything in a series, depending on length maybe spreading it out a little is better than catching up quickly then a long wait for more.
>>
I've been waiting 15 years for season 2 of my favorite LN anime.
>>
>>282603085
What LN?
>>
>>282602308
Back in my day, there were no seasons, and its not like it took years to get a sequel going unlike these days (inb4 you point out the rare exception)

>>282602437
And here, we see the social pollution caused by some faggot projecting. Even worse, its HIM who is accusing others of being divisive.

This girl married her pet, btw

It was the opposite in the past for a lot of anime adaptations where there won't be enough manga content to adapt so once they hit the end of it they have another ton of episodes of anime original content. But now they just adapt half or less of what's out and never make a new season. Neither are that good imo since they both end up with the manga not being fully adapted.

Wtf? Like her dog or something? Is she a minor character or an important one?

Coco is an fairy but has an human form. He just look older in his human form to other people thanks to his illusion magic but are close in age to nozomi.

they had an wedding both in the fairy world and human world in the end

>However, despite of its popularity, it has received much criticism and backlash in the western fandom due to Coco being initially Nozomi's teacher and implied to be an adult, while Nozomi was 14. Some people still defend it claiming that Nozomi is now 26 since Otona, but others still feel uncomfortable with it because they met when Nozomi was a teen and they were implied to have mutual feelings since then.

Is this true? Is it problematic?

Split cours hadn't hit full swing yet in the late 2000s. There wasn't a need to announce a second season because you usually got 2 full cours in a row, which is an even cushier arrangement than waiting for a new season.

WILL KAIJU #8 CONTINUE THE SEASON ENDED WITHOUT AN ANNOUNCEMENT
I MUST KNOW
IT'S IMPORTANT
>>
>>282602308
This is actually done because production pipelines are at their most competent and can confidently announce a new season of a work is in production when the ongoing season ends.
Back in the day, it used to be that you run forever or got cancelled.
>>
>>282602308
Back in my day you found amine on VHS tapes in sketchy bookstores, sometimes bootlegged, and if you were lucky enough to fine both OVA1 and OVA2 you were happy.
>>
>>282608216
As a spoiled piece of shit who only remembers hunting for anime on IRC/FTP/BitTorrent which were easily accessible to 16 year old me without proof of scene cred, I'm so fucking glad I skipped the VHS era.
Yearning for something you might never get may have a certain romanticism to it, but actually being able to watch anything you want is so much better in practice.

Some comfort is nice. This world is fucked enough alr. Lemme have my next season.

So you can marry fairies? Now we need a human male and a female fairy couple.
>>
>>282602308
Zoomers can only watch anime under a weighted blanket and with fnaf porn on the other monitor or they get crippling gender dysphoria.
>>
>>282602308
>I started watching seasonal anime in the late 2000s and we NEVER had our hand held like that. We just had to endure anxiety and uncertainty for months or years
Then you would also remember that most shows really were just one season and those that weren't instantly got that 24+ treatment.
