I used to skip endings quite a lot. Like I don't think I listened to much of any of OP's endings. I'll still skip endings more than openings if I'm not that into them though. Question: How did the Japanese anime industry settle on having OPs and EDs each be 90 seconds long? I've always been curious. It seems every OP and ED is roughly 90 seconds long. Why not 60 seconds? Or 80 seconds?

>>282614493Some OVAs have longer OPs/EDs since they're not restricted for time. YKK for instance. One of the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei OVAs has an extended 3 minute long opening too. One Piece is the only TV anime I know of that has significantly longer openings, though I think they stopped doing that recently. For a while OP's openings were 2.5 minutes instead of the usual 1.5. Anime shorts tend to from what I've seen have 1 minute openings instead of the usual 1.5 minutes. But I don't know the answer to your question. There is some variety though. I'm pretty sure I've seen some TV anime have like 1:40 openings as well, or 1:10 openings.
