Altus coming back, and so soon, seemed a really weird choice. I think many of us would have at the bare minimum ended this arc before an Altus reintroduction - it just felt like a lot and Orthos was triple icing on a thick cake. Still, the writing is quippy, the main party still charming, and I trust the author's direction. This, Tower Dungeon, and Kagurabachi are my three must reads when they release.

Some sort of interval between the attack waves of the gifted mercs and Arkos would have been the spot. Or just take the witches out entirely they really sucked. I liked pretty much everything with Lacrima and Lukas and have strong hopes they're only going to get better now that this arc is done. I'm skeptical on Zana but I guess she's here as a new party member too. I'm hoping endless fights in a DBZ wasteland was an aberration and the author will get better at spacing things out in the future.
I wont lie to you and claim the arc didnt go on too long, but as always its exacerbated by weekly scheduling and the occasional break. 7.5 or 8 for me. Points off for that one spread a while ago where the scale was laughably off to an extent it took me out of it. I dont care about Altus, they will probably do something fun with him. Lacrima or Titit need to jump Julian soon now that Scorp Woman is on the table.

Previously, you could feel kinda dark fantasy book / RPG game vibes, and this arc turned out to be straight out shonen. Our hero party uh I mean Julian and others at first faced a gang of jobbers, well you knew how it'd end even before the fight, a little appetizer before Elstri and Halem who were the most anticipated characters and the fight with resurrected Arkos was cool, but he should've died. Keeping him felt like the author made mistake early and wanted to patch it somehow or lacks creativity. Oh and the Covenant of witches appeared but they were disappointing and their charm broke. Yeah, yeah the art is incredible and the choreography of fights are clean, but it needs to be more consistent and consequential.
