What is Shinobu like in bed?
I like how Shinobu’s moral failures go STRAIGHT over the heads of the low-IQ fans. She literally planned on committing suicide — NOT or the sake of the Corps, or humanity, or ideals or anything like that, but for her personal vendetta. What was her vendetta over? Her sister, a soldier in a war, dying in said war. She LIES to everyone, builds up bonds of trust over years while fully expecting to break that trust when the time comes. Robs the Corps of a critical combat and support resource. Drags Kanao into her plot, forcing her to undergo trauma, while using higher ideals of saving people to convince her. Fake and manipulative everyone around her. I mean, the only person she shows her true face to is a fucking demon she’s never even MET, to whom she runs straight to IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FINAL WAR.I strongly believe that if this wasn’t a Shounen Jump manga that she’d turn traitor and accept demonhood.

This romance theme can’t be explored in a Shounen Jump manga so it has be a hidden plot thread like what KnY often likes to plant.

We were robbed blind of the Paradise Faith temple infiltration arc. That is the natural place to resolve Shinobu’s character. It was a large and successful cult, the membership capped at 250 members which required occasional culling to keep to the limit. Maybe Douma shows up at the Butterfly Mansion and he drags Aoi and the other girls to his temple (because of course he does). He puts them to work in the cult in their usual capacities, ie, health care, kitchen, etc, but the real purpose is to let them leak information out to the Corps to bring them to him. This situation results in Shinobu, Kanao and the main characters to take action ASAP. This will also give Aoi specially a chance to actually develop as a character in a proper arc, ie, connecting with the cultists, caring about them, and trying to figure out what she can do to protect them from Douma etc. An immenent culling would be the event that drives the plot forward. Douma’s relaxed and playful attitude slowly becoming ominous as the time of the culling approaches which adds a sense of urgency to things, capped off by a proper multi-stage boss battle and resolution.

Then in my opinion there is Giyuu whose speed is undetermined, but his power against an upper moon is far greater than Shinobu or Kanao's. Even if Shinobu is marked, she'd barely match default Giyuu without the mark, and that's the bare minimum.Not as like the Giyuu would have survived Akaza even when marked, or if Akaza had the mark, he wouldn't have survived Rengoku having the mark as long as Giyuu having the mark. And maybe if Rengoku had access through the see too world, then Giyuu marked fighting Akaza marked (full powered) would have been underpowered by comparison unless Rengoku was an upper moon, in which case Upper moon marked could have had a more fair fight against Giyuu (marked, see through world) unless he reduced his battle spirit to bypass his compass, in which case Giyuu (marked) could defeat Rengoku (upper moon, see through world) if Akaza was also teaming up on him (without battle spirit). So something along the lines of:Rengoku (Upper moon, no battle spirit) > Giyuu (Marked, see through world) > Akaza (no battle spirit) > Giyuu (Compass) > Rengoku (Marked) > Giyuu (Marked) > Giyuu > Rengoku > Shinobu (Marked) > ShinobuThis doesn't take the account considered for other pillars though. I honestly think Obanai (Marked, Upper Moon) could take Himejima and Giyuu (Both See the world) without poison if Giyuu wasn't present, or something along the lines of Rengoku (Battle spirit) fighting Giyuu (Moon breathing, marked) instead. But it's hard to gauge.

Kanroji and Oabanai were there wasting time with Nakime, and Kanao / Inosuke arrived only when the plot needed them to. A more serious, less rushed narrative should have severely punished her bad choices and poor behavior leading up to that fight, she got off very easily.
