Has anyone seen it? I haven't ever heard anyone talk about it here.I guess it came out too early, as it predates the isekai trend.I quite like the whole Confucian thing it has going for it.But something that bothers me is birth in this world. In this world, humans are born out of fruits, and cannot be birthed. Which leaves the question, do women still menstruate in this world?
>>282644665>do women still menstruate in this world?Aking the real questions...I have seen it, from what i remember the begining was interesting but kindof hit and miss and if i reacll correctly the anime adds a couple original characters that are not that intersting. As it hits its stride the show becomes really good especially towards the end as you hit the magical/heavnely court intrigues. My only gripe is that it is/feels incomplete without a conclusive ending.
isekai was already common long before the current "trend"
>>282644665Women also have penis in that world
>>282644665>I guess it came out too early, as it predates the isekai trendThe CURRENT trend. Isekai are an old concept. Back then, they were usually aimed at girls and the girls actually wanted to go back to earth.
>>282644715>>282644824post-SAO (and I know SAO isn't technically isekai but it influenced it) isekai is dominated by RPG mechanics like leveling, pre-SAO isekai had few video game mechanics
>>282644709>My only gripe is that it is/feels incomplete without a conclusive ending.Yes, because it is based very long series of books
>>282644665It's garbage. MC mopes around for like 10 to 20 episodes doing nothing and once she finally resigns to her fate she takes control of her kingdom from an evil regent and fixes all of its problems off screen.
>>282645392I guess that is one way to summarize it
>>282644665>Has anyone seen it? I haven't ever heard anyone talk about it here.Yeah, read all the translations that were available of the novels too, the guy who contributed more than anyone else to the fantranslations of this series passed away earlier this year. It's a damn shame. >>282644665>do women still menstruate in this world? It's not brought up as far as I can remember even in perspectives such as those of Yoko and Risai who basically have to struggle to survive on the road for months often in filth and grime.>>282644709>the anime adds a couple original characters that are not that intersting.A lot of the early dialogue and conflict is the feMC coming to terms with herself through food deprived and potentially intoxicated visions she has while talking to her scabbard. It's the kind of thing that can work in a novel, but in a visual medium you kind of have to externalize those conflicts.>>282644824>the girls actually wanted to go back to earth.im pretty sure that a misfit girl getting taken away to a fantasy world by a hot bishie, was a common troupe and there's also the stories where a plain Japanese girl gets isekai'd into the harem of bishie Hārūn al-Rāshīd or bishie Oda Nobunaga or whatever and changes the course of history. >>282645392I liked the part where she made her chink servants stop doing the traditional kowtow and do a proper nipponese ojigi instead.
>>282647204>the guy who contributed more than anyone else to the fantranslations of this series passed away earlier this yearWhat the FUCK not my man Eugene
>>282644665I've only seen the first 2 arcs. Quite enjoyed the first arc but after that it became too boring for me so I lost interest and dropped.
>>282644665>Has anyone seen it?No anon, you must be the first person on /a/.
>>282647204>Yeah, read all the translations that were available of the novels tooDoes it resolve what happens to Taiki? The show made it completely non-sensical.Like 2nd arc is about Youko being a story about Taiki finding his emperor, Gyousou. However, the arc then ends in Taiki being in the human world, and seemingly suffering from amnesia.Kirin's lives are tied to their master, and they are supposed to be on their master's side all time. Which is why Gyousou must be alive if Taiki is alive. But then it is jumps to 3rd arc and Taiki is not brough up again.
>>2826473292nd arc start as slow but pay off is worth it
>>282647471it was ok, I just didn't like how the show shifted it's focus from Youko when it invested so much time into it.
>>282644665It's really good OP, ignore the edgeposters. However, it should've ended on episode 39.
>>282647443Yeah, after a 18 year hiatus Fuyumi Ono finished the Taiki-Gyousou plot with the Hills of Silver Ruins novel.
>>282647562>18 year hiatusfor real?
Amazing character development in the animu.
