You'll see why I'm pretentious. But not everything in Naruto is meant to be taken seriously. Stuff like characters teleporting is just Kishimoto playing with tropes. This arc is a textbook example of that. The next arc breaks some of these tropes with possibly one of the most “realistic” dialogues in the series. Sometimes I feel like Sai felt like Kishimoto talking to the reader base.
