Making love to Sistine's everything!
I have a desire to be raped by a drunk sistine
>>282662365Well yea, I do kinda want to create something.
>>282662365I wrote a novel for that Kadokawa contest that ends tonight, took about a month. I'd be happy doing the work but my greatest fear is running out of inspiration and churning out unwatchable slop. The fount of inspiration is a fickle thing, and I'd rather disappear into obscurity than churn out a hundred works that people hate
>>282662365I do. My problem is that vidya and life going to shit may have killed what little creative bones I had. Not sure how to regain my creativity back if such a thing is possible, but would love to know.
>>282662593I'd love to talk about your novel. Which kadokawa contest btw do you have a link?
>>282662593My worst fear is unironically creating a cultural sensation like Attack on Titan and then flopping the ending hard. AoT is a genuine case study on such a scenario.
>>282662625It's about the journey.>>282662603I think you need one idea and then need to just start writing and just continue every single day maybe 1 break day a week it doesn't have to be a lot at all per day but creativity is born from consistency
>>282662641>I think you need one idea and then need to just start writing and just continue every single day maybe 1 break day a week it doesn't have to be a lot at all per day but creativity is born from consistencyI never considered looking at it that way. Thank you, anon.
Sure, except I can't write and if I think my work is good its probably garbage in reality.
No. I was apparently good at drawing but I hated doing it. It was time consuming and not fun at all
>>282662365I've felt it. Like really felt it. In my teens I mostly looked at stuff and made fanfictions but I want to graduate from that and actually get creative.Anybody read pic related? Is it helpful? Any other suggestions?
>>282662622They put out an english-language contest for isekais. If you google "Kadokawa Isekai Contest" it should come up, but the deadline is literally in 1 hour so it's pretty much over. It was in collaboration with Honeyfeed, the writing website. My novel was, IMO, derivative and not very imaginative, but if you search "Retirement" on Honeyfeed and look for a cop standing beside a hot elf girl with red hair, that's mine.>>282662625This is my other great fear. Say the world opens up to me, I've got publishers breaking down my door, but everything I write after that first initial novel is just straight garbage. I'd kill myself. The fear of that initial golden inspiration dissipating, leading to nothing but trash is something that would keep me up at night. I can't even imagine a way to dig myself out of such a scenario. Scary stuff.
>>282662365I was writing a webnovel but I suck at managing my time, and working almost 60 hours a week certainly doesn't help.
>>282662810The other thing is that I'm confident I can make a story that, on public review, lands at a square 6/10. 7/10 if I'm lucky, 8/10 for people who really love it. I can't make heads or tails of the magic that makes a 10/10 story. I've studied classical music; at least it's obvious in that genre what quality entails. There's no question as to an artist's magnificent contribution, either it stands on its own or falls to the wayside. For writing an anime, or even just a story, it's a totally different ballgame. You don't know how your story stacks up until it's out there, exposed to public opinion, eviscerated. For musicians, the gap between ascending young artists and the greatest of all time is just a matter of perfection and skill. For writers? There's some kind of je ne sais quois that's totally imperceptible to me, that magic that turns a story from something mundane into something eminently rewatchable.
If this thread gets 404'd btw maybe OP could remake it on bant or something for the meantime. Just a suggestion
>>282662671*smooches* no homo
I've wanted for a while to draw manga
Yeah, obviously, aside from my lack of skills, the main issue is that I am a westoid. What I write cannot be considered proper manga quality due to my christian corruption (in terms of ideas)
Jump just recently open up their occasional rookie contest
>>28266236510+ years ago I used to think that this sort of stuff is impossible but nowadays you have websites like Webtoons, Tapas, Webnovels and Kadokawa international contests for both manga artist and light novel author. Picrel inspired me to create.
>>282663074https://www.jump-mangasho.com/award/gensaku-sakuga/
test
>>282663074>>282663104This one is due too soon imo (you have a month), better to aim for the same contest next year and try to polish one or several storyboards without rushing for now
I have a desire to create a story/manga/anime but I don't have the desire to be a story/manga/anime creator if that makes sense
>>282663064>Christian corruption You say that like it's a bad thing
>>282662365So hypothetically I just need to earn a shit ton of money and then comm an anime studio to handle bringing my script to life, right? Apparently the average 12 episode anime has a budget of around 2-3 million dollars, which is significant but not impossible
I wouldn't mind writing. I commissioned a comic where i basically stole Love is Wars whole shtick. It was fun.

>>282663666Sick tirps, Satan blesses this pair
>>282663470I don't totally get it but I think that your mindset is a good thing. There's a whole discourse about how it can be mistaken in some cases to only want to be a xyz-er as opposed to wanting to make xyz.The exaggerated example would be if all I'm doing is fantasizing about being the next hideo kojima or druckmann so i can get photos taken of me (or not, as i stand there and wait for flashes but none come) and be interviewed about my n*tflix adaptations.I do think it's fine to fantasize about fame and whatever too though. I mean I do it myself.
>>282662451t. Glen Radars
>>282663621Sadly commisioning costs a fair bit and bringing a fully original story to life is something I don't want to commit to and make my wallet cry. So just when i can budget something small and for fun i do. >>282663470I just take it that means you don't like fame and want to be out of the spotlight. If thats the correct interpretation then i think thats normal and the weird ones are the clout chasers.>>282662888Mmm, there are objective things that can ruin story quality a sub 5 is easy to create. But I get what you mean that a 5-9 requires a bit of a spark that you can't really "drill and practice". Otherwise every best selling author would have multiple best sellers underneath their belt.
>>282662365Absolutely, 100%I spent my entire highschool and college days studying how to make storiesToday, I am learning how to make artIt's been 4 years of training and I think I am good enough to start making the world that was playing in my head.I am already making the first designs. I should be done with the first characters by Dec.It's 16th-17th-century historical fantasy. No castles. StarfortsNew World explorationArquebuses, Crossbows, and Halberds Vehemently Christian iconography featuring Catholics, Orthodox, Ethiopians, and Assyrians
>>282662365I have three different stories that I am currently trying to set up. Would you anons like to hear what I'm cooking so far? I'd share, but I'm scared that some asshole will steal my ideas, so I'd rather not. Unless ya'll really want me to see them that is.
>>282663780Sugoi, do we have a Christian otaku here? Weeb of the Lord, what is your wisdom?
>>282663797I think it's safe to share your ideas because (sorry if this is a bit cynical, I don't think it's cynical though) I don't think story ideas are actually "worth stealing", in most most cases. What's worth stealing is the execution, structure, and stuff like that. How you consciously work make the protagonist likable so that the readers can even start to care about the ideas. etc.
>>282662365None at all.I've always wanted to write a novel, though I always stop after 1 chapter because I have adhd and lose motivation quickly.
>>282663809>what is your wisdom? The Age of Exploration was NEVER God, Glory, and GoldIt was just God.The one and only, reason for Spain and Portugal's venture to the New World was the sheer desperation to defeat the Ottoman Empire. Turks have destroyed Europe over and over. They destroyed the Crusades and the Polish-Lithuanian forcesThis forced the Western European powers to look to the sea and hatched the mad plan to outflank the Ottoman Empire by converting the other side of the world to ChristianityEvery single explorer did it because they had all seen the might of the Muslim forces. Columbus himself was born at a time when the biggest news was the Ottomans' conquest of Italy, where they decapitated all who refused to convert to Islam. There was neither Gold nor Glory in their eyesIt was just God calling them to sail the rough waters to finally defeat IslamAnd it worked. It fucking workedIt brought them great RichesOttomans tried to become a colonial power too, but Lepanto happened, and their Naval forces were wiped. Thus, locking them within the brown waters
>>282663972The genocides that followed however...
>>282663876Maybe the genre you're looking to write just isn't your favorite or it's not your strong suit. Or maybe the plot just isn't all that inspiring to you. Write about what you're passionate about, or a message you really want to express. Not just any random thing that you think is cool, or else it'll be very bland and forgettable. Try and make a story that'll stand out. That'll motivate you to finish it so that everyone can see what makes your story so unique. I just started Ruri no Houseki recently, and it's abundantly obvious that the author is really passionate about minerology and wanted to share it with the world. Try thinking outside the box like that. You can do it anon. Ganbare.
I do. Even drew one of my characters (a younger version) a couple of years back, but I can't write for shit. I can draw a body, but my fashion sense is just wack.
>>282662451Wait they fucked?
>>282664113Thanks. I don't think I've ever felt true passion. I envy those who have it. But maybe I'll find it some day.
>>282664024The majority of sources about the Spanish genocide of the Natives come from English sourcesIn reality, it was the White Man's disease that wiped out 99% of the natives. And no, that's not an exaggeration. Historians thought that it was just 90% but they now see that it was truly an apocalyptic eventThe only ones that survived are the hostile tribes for obvious reasons
>>282664231Pretty cool composition.

>>282664391Goddamn this isn't a manga it's a whole anime. Did you make this with a studio you run or something? I can see you like SHAFT. Wow. Voice acting is good too.
>>282662365>>282662593>>282662720>>282663090Hi anons. It's great to see people interested in creating stuff. This is a bit off-topic, but I made a chat group as a second place to share stuff you're enjoying/doing (as opposed to this site). I'm trying to keep it a place where people are nice to each other and there's no trolling and not too much schizoness. It's not a "group for creators" specifically but an anon once suggested to me that people curious about making stuff would be good to invite.TL;DR if you happen to want a place to share stuff you're into, you could try this out. pastebin.com/HQy6Antb It takes maybe like 5 minutes total.
>>282663780What kind of studying did you do on stories? I'm interested because I've also been studying writing here and there. You don't need to go into too much detail if it's a pain or if you have trade secrets
>>282664280I was referring to America's manifest destiny genocide of the Natives. That disease argument can only really apply to the East Coast, but once the settlers started expanding westward, we got bullshit like the Trail of Tears and the buffalo being hunted to near extinction to start the natives.
>>282664520Yeah, it's a project I spent the last decade on with an indie circle I run. It's not exactly a consistent group as people have come in and out over the years. End goal was to make something SHAFT-inspired, yeah. Thanks for checking it out.
>>282664632I fucking kneel.
>>282663797>just threeI miss when things were that simple, I must be close to approaching 250 sub-folders in my "ideas" folder.
>>282664691Each one has folders?! For what, research? Visuals and sketches and designs? Notes? Wow, that sounds like a treasure trove. I just have one sentence or paragraph for each idea lol. i use scrivener to actually build up an idea and scale it up but i've only done that a few times up to now.
>>282664691I've had many more ideas, then just three, but over time, I've combined them together because I found that a lot of their elements go together nicely. The dilemma that I'm having right now is that I know what themes that I want to cover (psychological themes), but I'm not sure which I story idea that I have is because for expressing them? Do I go with the supernatural battle manga, or the character drama focused specifically on the characters set grounded in the real world? Both would work really well, but I'm scared to commit to either one because I'll feel the other option had wasted potential.
>>282664996You could try doing a short oneshot set in each world maybe just 10-20 pages, maybe just a storyboard or pencils only and not a fully inked story, to get a better feel of things. Practice telling a full story (with a proper start and conclusion) within 10-20 pages. (If you find that fun. I don't mean to make this homework, I just think it could be fun exploration)
>>282665187That's a good idea. Thanks anon.
>>282665448Anytime brobro.
>>282662365Idk about wanting to be a mangaka, but I do sometimes wish that I could draw I would draw all the cute girls I like doing cute things or being silly.I would also draw tons to loli x adult man, loli x shota and tons of /ss/. Like stuff like Uso Oyako.
>>282664605I just wrote.Got publishedCompany foldedNow, I have shifted to art
>>282665637You mean your publisher folded, or what?>studied writing by just writingpretty based
>>282665672Yup.The publisher folded before we could make any real money.Too lazy to find another one so we just shifted
>>282665737Aw man. Was it a startup sort of publisher?>weWho's we?
Every moment ever since I discovered anime anon. I never really had a honeymoon period with anime so I became nitpicky and analytical pretty early on, but I always found myself interested in individual aspects anime, manga, or LNs would bring up. And I would fantasize "How would this happen if I was writing it". That's all in past now. My tard brain just doesn't have it to be a writer. I can come up with decent ideas but my writing is just lifeless, there's no emotion in it no matter how hard I try or which author I try to emulate. So I've been trying to get this thought out of my head for a long time now, as you see, it hasn't worked.
>>282665935Tried my hand at drawing too, was even worse
>>282662365not a manga but i always wanted to make a vn but my nihongo is absolute shit
Yeah, but way too many ideas and not nearly enough time to work on them.
>>282662365I've wanted to be a movie director long before I knew what anime even was.>>282662593Ayy, you too? I did as well. I'm really hoping mine at least makes it to the finalists, because this could be my big lucky break. The entertainment industry is all about connections more than talent sadly, and I hope that this could be what gets my foot into the door, because I'm not the son of some important figure.>>282663845>>282664509Essex!

>>282662365I have been writing a fantasy book for quite a few years now. It's been slow going since I am never happy with it. I have no desire to see it ever adapted in any real form. I doubt I'll ever release it.
>>282662365I have desire, but no confidence and low motivation. I hate spending time on something when I'm not sure if I'll get anything out of it, not sure if anyone will ever care, so I end up prioritising doing other stuff with my time. Often that stuff ends up being way more pointless. Like reading /a/.I also have almost 20 ideas for stories that I regularly get new, small ideas for. Competing for my time and attention.>>282667188>It's been slow going since I am never happy with it.I'm hoping to reach this level in the near future. Slow is getter than glacial.
>>282667432>I have desire, but no confidence and low motivation.Literally me.
