I'm watching Digimon Adventure for the first time in well over 20 years and the first time subbed and the show is goes from competent-enough eccentric toy commercial for the first twenty-ish episodes to a genuinely quite funny and interesting well-directed episode to episode show by the time they all get back into meatspace. I fucking love these kids. I am a Jō-respecter until my dying breath. Mimi a cute but has taken a backseat to Hikairi. I have grown to appreciate Taichi ~~and his mom can absolutely get it~~

Please god tell me it stays this good until the end and into other series all I hear is the second series is dogshit and I don't wanna believe it. I'm on episode 32 btw

Of course it's good. Nostalgia obviously plays a factor, but it's not the only reason it's still relevant and beloved all these years later.
