I was close to finishing my own mangadex clone, but the comick closure made me curious about the people who tried to build comick 2. So I tried joining one and applied as a dev, but they were all just vibe coders who didn’t know shit and had mostly toyed with JavaScript and AI-generated code. So yeah, that’s two weeks wasted. It’s just grim if these are the only people willing to do this these days.

Aggregators can just compress the files during upload to their servers. Scanlators can host their work on their own site and upload it on filesharing sites, which will be added to the aforementioned manga backup torrent. Or create another mangadex for all I care. The point is singular websites and centralization don't matter unless you're an underage retard. Piracy is supposed to be like a hydra. Cut one head off and two grow in its place.
