Since it's the anniversary I thought i'd ask the anons what their thoughts are on the concept of /a/ core is. Do you think the board has a unified taste in anime and manga, that certain series are more popular here than other parts of the English speaking internet, or that the board is too divided in the current year for the term /a/ core to still be relevant?

Things that are essential to /a/ as a hobbyist board, as culture to a shared group, are things that people can implicitly look to and understand. Defining them goes against that purpose because it allows undesirables to think they understand the consensus of what would seem otherwise unintelligible.
