I've updated the appearance ratings for the first time in a year and a half, back when chapter 11 (Onei's wacky dream sequences) released. A lot has happened in the past 14 chapters. The biggest news is that we have a new character, Kodai, who seems like she'll be central to upcoming plot developments regarding the gate. We've also finally learned after several years since her introduction that the Kraken's real name is Kurake, who may also be returning as a somewhat supporting character with her new career at the Smiley Boar. Previously, Kurake was the only character to drop below an appearance rate of 1/8, marking her as the single character in the manga to be truly forgotten about at one point. Thanks to her two appearances in the most recent beach chapters she's now only mostly forgotten. However, two more chapters and she's down there again.Kobo still isn't being utilized much, only appearing in the two beach chapters after all this time, along with the rest of the cast. Onei seems to be on the upswing now that he's introduced the curse arc with her and Erufuda, so she may end up climbing to yellow stage for the first time since her introduction.Nekono has been a constant since she showed up, being a character that lives at Naoe's apartment which makes it easy to include her for a few panels. A side effect of Nekono's presence is that Raika has been on a steady climb, often being paired with her in chapters to show their rivalry. As for chapter focuses, these are completely subjective so if you were to go back and read these you might have a different opinion than mine.He's been doing a better job of spotlighting new or underutilized characters like Kodai and Onei. It also seems like there's a bit more attention recently towards having other characters being involved in the plot of a chapter, rather than just being present and letting one character take the stage. Boss still hasn't had a chapter devoted to her, and I doubt we'll see one at this point. Naoe has lost the title of the most chapters dedicated to him, and now that the cooking arc is still going on we'll be seeing Erufuda take focus for a while.There's a five way tie for third place with 5 chapters of focus between Mero, Oku, Gonda, Eure, and Suteno.Oga and Honeda have only ever had a single chapter focus on them, which was their introductions. Hopefully one day they can be more involved in a chapter's story.
