What’s the correct way to add male characters into romcoms and female-only shows without anyone sperging NTR?

>>282736330Jitsu wa watasi wa does this reasonably well (the manga, don’t bother with the anime).Near the start the MC has his couple generic looking friends to establish he’s not a complete loner (one with glasses, sports one, and pervert one), but the focus is - as it should be - primarily on the MC and the various girls of the series. But what they get right is - after the premise is a bit more fleshed out and there’s space for it in the plot, all three if them get bits of development and are fleshed out into more solid characters. Then when the halfway point of the manga happens, the Mc actually picks a girl (rare but powerful writing) and sticks with her throughout the rest of it. The male friends then get their own arcs interspacing the main couple dating, where they have their own build up to getting girlfriends (one being a love interest of the MC who was rejected and had to get over that, one being a female character that was around a lot but wasn’t a serious option for the Mc, and the last… is mostly played for jokes). It lets the other males have their own “mini-romcom” story within the main story, and makes them into characters you want to root for as well. It’s quite good.

Of course some people are so far gone that they’ll never be able to do that, no matter how good the writing. and that’s where you get the ugly side of things such as the idol industry.

And, this is a big one, she actually doesn’t hold another man she doesn’t love’s hand.
