While I did enjoy the finale, I am still confused as to how it was 52 minutes because it did not feel like that at all. Like it still felt rushed despite being the longest continuous episode (if you consider the three parts to be one episode like I do) in the entire series. that's literally a long enough duration to be a feature length filmI feel like the finale was maybe kind of hindered by the subplots. In HW Part 2, there were 3 different plots going on (The demon sisters and Garterbelt trying to return to Heaven, Brief trying to free P&S, P&S stuck with Ramiel and his sons). A/B/C plots are not innately bad, I just feel like they are not used to writing this type of episode structure
Last night i dreamt about watching a new episode. The demon sisters and Garterbelt actually do move the plot forward as they're the ones who execute the rescue plan. But it also could have been an interesting character moment for the three of them. Garterbelt served Heaven for most of his life while the demon sisters considered Heaven their enemy for most of their lives, yet the three of them were in the same situation about to be executed. Despite their differences, they can still rely on each other. And that's why they need to save P&S, who were loyal to them despite being fallen angels
