But the odd thing here is that very few new gen Shonen seem to be going that route. Most of them end up being one and done stories or stories that abandon the old cast entirely. JJK is a good example because it just got a sequel manga that starts with a timeskip that leaves most of the old cast dead of old age. Which just leaves you wondering why Gege didn't bother having more of them die in the battle against Sukuna if their stories were going to end right after that anyways.

But because, mystery box, Dabi wasn’t allowed to do anything else besides “muh dad”.Speaking of lost dynamics, Aoyama and Invisible Girl were massively mishandled as Dabi was since those two were wasted on a plot twist getting prioritized over anything else. And as we can see, it heavily ruins the characters dramatically when their powers were very complimentary, and they could’ve been way more repaint for a few arcs or two before the twist. And the twist should’ve taken place long before Shiggy’s arc to have this moment more appropriately.
