Sure, but the way it played out, they'd already gotten the word from their superiors that MC is useless and they can kill him, so there really wasn't any point in saving him from monster TWICE while they were dragging his ass down deep enough to kill him without witnesses. Other than being an asshole before killing him at least.

You could just explain it with a trivial "they wanted to put a little show and have fun, as you could see that the Werewolf was eager to torture the MC for a bit of play". I don't see a point in going into details of template story with 2 twists and 1 gimmick.

I like watching one of these narou-slop shows once in a while, but it feels like this one goes a bit too far with the wish fulfillment.
It actually is like "Everyone bullies you, but you're actually super special, and here's an extremely loyal hot woman that loves you for no good reason" I feel like they usually at least try to be slightly subtle.
~~I'm probably still watching a couple more episodes anyway~~
