I always torrent my anime, but I finally a job, and lately I've been thinking that I should start buying anime and support the industryBut with half seasons costing nearly $80 in my country I dunno, it's just insanely expensive, the subs are either bad, generic or non-existent compared to fansubs, and usually you can't get older shows or if you can they're limited runsHow have you dealt with this quandary? What do?
buy the japanese versions if you want to support the industry, not localized trash
>>282788453>buy the japanese versions if you want to support the industry, not localized trashWhere does the money go for American versions?
>>282788453its usually geoblocked so you literally cannot support themthe japanese would rather their industry die out than take money from foreigners, they are literally retarded
>>282788434what are the best torrenting sites i just use 9anime

I try to own my favorites.
>>282788434You can support the industry streaming too.
>>282789527goo goo ga ga ima twansfomew mommy :DD
>>282789579FUCK subscription services
>>282789617I like them too, Im not your mother though.
>>282789646There's free streaming too. You can get pluto TV and watch the anime channels on that with ads.
>>282788434Keep pirating. Support the industry other ways like a CR subscription and buying merch
>>282788434ive been buying them for a long time, but lately the biggest problem isnt the price (but seriously, why the fuck are they charging $80 for a bluray of 20+yo shows like azumanga), but rather the output.Funimation and most other publishers are dead, So either Sentai publishes it and you wait a few months for it to go on sale for a reasonable price, or Crunchyroll publishes it (after sitting on the license for 5 years) and never sells it for less than $40, or they just never get an english release. Theres tons of shows that came out within the last 10 years that just never got an english release despite being pretty popular, and the physical industry will probably die before they do get a release. My favorite is when sentai tries their hardest to sell the last of their stock for like $5 each, then do a re-release the next year for $60. Happened with watamote and kill me baby, and others. And to make it worse, they called the Watamote bluray the COMPLETE collection for the SECOND time, and neither of the sets include the fucking OVA!!!!i still bought them thoughhonestly been thinking of just torrenting from now on
>>282789738>>282789804>>282789579nta but streaming does fuck all to support the studios, much less the actual authors. Buy an acrylic stand or a volume of manga, and you'll be supporting them 100x more than a fucking subscription to cuntyroll
>>282789816>english release
>>282789835Support is Support. No matter how little
>>282789816For me its all the 4k releases being DNRed abortions. The upcoming Perfect Blue 4k seems to be a straight upgrade from the good older blu ray.
>>282790081you mean downgrade?
