There was a tremendous amount of emphasis in the show to put the kids right in the center of the action as much as possible. When fighting as WarGreymon, Taichi is almost always there with it. Whether it'll actually be good at that or not is another question, this year long merch shows tend to drag in the back half once they've wrung out their original premise and character dynamics, but it'd almost be impossible for it to be as bereft of a plot as Ghost Game.

Guys and Gals I have two theories.1. Tenmas E-Pulse glitching other things...do you think its possible his body is possesed by some evil virus type Digimon?2. Assuming glitching anothers Santama may cause to corrupt the Data from the OS which is pretty much AI I think its possible to have a D-Reaper kind of endboss Digimon in form of an evil AI, maybe even overtaking Hitomis body. If that AI can glitch the Santama too causing cold hearts you could pretty much kill all humanity at once.

His brother specifically mentions someone or group trying to track Tenma down, so I think what happened is his particularly juicy to Digimon, or perhaps interesting to the villains, E-Pulse got left on Hitomi's Sapotama, and so she was targeted because of that. The way Asuka goes on about it, it seems like more than just the basic level of "Digimon eat E-Pulse" that concerns him with Tenma. Perhaps something happened in relation to their parents being gone or something went weird with the mark of the beast chip he got as a baby.
