>>28283714090’s Dezaki was absolutely insane when it came to production values. He was also on an edgy gothic horror stint starting with Oniisama e, and Black Jack was basically just building off of what Oniisama established. Even crazier is that Oniisama e is a TV series, yet it’s just as visually impressive as BJ.
>>282838658>Oniisama eI really need to watch this next. i've been reading interviews about it and want to start it. I started BJ on a whim because I saw some really cool cuts. my attention has been glued to the screen since i started.
>>282838681The second episode of BJ in particular feels like a nod to Oniisama e with its focus on teenage girls, drugs, and age gap attraction, so you’ll probably like it. It’s literally the exact same studio and staff members afterall. I always felt it was ironic that Tezuka Productions’ most well known and acclaimed work is a Riyoko Ikeda adaptation.
>>282838727Thanks anon, I'll definitely start it next and i appreciate the information. I really enjoyed episode 2 as well as episode 8 of the OVA so if it's really similar it can indeed be right up my alley with the interests. I think one think BJ has gotten down is the perfect amount of creepy within the eyes. It might not be intentional but eevn within episode 4 when the MC was shown to be with catina she often has large open eyes displaying the whole pupil and it adds a crazed look to her. Even though the direct reason was parasites in the end, an added side note could be mental health issues exacerbated the symptoms. It's a nice touch overall because when she gets older she loses that crazed look (dormant?). I'm rambling a bit but i really like a lot of blackjack. The surgical scenes are gorgeous and knowing they're cel work is even better.

The fact that Oniisama e got an anime adaptation at all is also a miracle. Even if it is an influential manga, most studios nowadays would laugh in your face if you said to them that you wanted to make a high budget 39 episode long adaptation of a 70s shoujo manga. My guess is Dezaki had some serious pull in the industry at that point, because I don’t know how else a passion project like that would have gotten past the pitching stage.

>>282881905I watched this the other day and it's so fucking weird but amusing
>>282881997>Reverse back the the futureBased
I recently watched Nadeisco for the second time. I enjoyed the meta elements more, caught lots of jokes I'd missed, and was engaged the whole way through. Also, I think Yurika should have just opened fire on the Jovians when they betrayed the Earth during the peace talks . Which is neat, because it's an example of a commander making the (very debatably) wrong decision due to a subordinate's good advice!>>282838681It's really a special show. Very comfy despite the sinister atmosphere.>>282864496The manga is... better. For a broad definition of the word "better". Expect rape. A lot of rape.
>>282837043>House, M.D. if he anime
Windaria
>>282837043I just finished up the 4 episode OVA series for Vampire Princess Miyu and I see there's an anime also made by AIC less than 10 years later. Is it worth checking out of should I just stick with the OVA?
>>282883714Call my therapist. Tell him his next yacht payment is here.
I would Yoko she did everything wrong but I still would
Mentioned in a previous thread how I was about to start Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Finished the two movies and I’m getting into the early bits of the series. It’s really engaging so far. Yang is my favorite.
>>282885336That's really it. watch the series or read the books

How is Megazone 23?
Watch Vifam
>>282889852it's alright.
Hyper Police is still fun. I was surprised it had foreshadowing when I don't think anyone would be angry if the show just did whatever. Also waitress girls are the cutest.
>>282871923The final duel of the anime series is ENF but I don't think you see nipples
>>282871528Is it Tetsuro's mum?
When did you retards start using such a vague term as the subject for these threads.
>>282883884The consensus is that the OVA is better but the TV series is more of the same with a loose plot that comes to a head with about six episodes left. I recommend it. The individual episodes are mostly great and the ending is one of my all time favourites.
>>282849918>Despite the production values they didn't have characters wearing different outfits in every scene like the manga either.>>282850755>Just because they got a budget doesn't mean they got a blank checkDo you guys believe drawing different outfits costs more? This is not live-action cinema where you have to produce costumes; d you also believe that an anime set in a space station must have an higher budget than one set in Tokyo because they have to pay to build the set?If a character changes clothes or not is a deliberate choice by the staff, it's not a money problem you morons.
>>282891175I guess i'll give it a watch then
>>282869932You know, now that I think about it, I'm surprised Rally hasn't been adopted as a mascot of sorts by right-libertarian types. You'd think gun rights advocates (whether right-libertarian or not) would love her too.
>>282889852Inconsistent artsyle and tone but an interesting watch for sure.
>>282894637She's too brown for the right.
>>282874815You can die now. Just kidding but I'm glad you gave me a reason to use this screenshot I took.>>282874555The fights in ZZ are definitely better but what kept me so constantly engaged and enamored with Zeta was its characters, particularly Kamille and Quattro. The Shangri-La crew + Roux and Puru/Ple are all great and likeable for one reason or another but they aren't quite resonating for me quite as hard as the Zeta cast did. Still liking ZZ a lot though, it's definitely a much better show than I was led to believe.
Anyone else miss the look and craft of cel animation? Both in anime and in general.
>>282895694>You can die nowNot until I've seen the madoka sequel
>>282895694>KamilleI don't know about anyone else's process for z Gundam but mine was bewilderment at first being confused and laughing about how weird it was that everybody was just hitting each other for no reason. it seemed pretty dated for that but then as I kept watching I really enjoyed the dynamics and growth of kamille and the different intricacies and play by plays that you can infer from char into his life now as Quattro. You also tend to see quatro as someone who finally gets a little break from his past to just enjoy his life before everything sort of catches up to him and just how frustrated he gets when it does.I just feel like there's a lot to take away from in zeta ending aside there's so much more that you can see.Especially something like Camille being almost directly a parallel to amadou but he never took the childish root. He took the root where he made the choice to go rather than it forced upon him. I feel like Camille and amuro are honestly a little bit of a copy and paste character of each other but how they develop their motivations over time is different. amuro to me feels like he never wants to pilot a Gundam. Whereas Camille doesn't necessarily want to pilot a Gundam but he makes the choice to do it rather than it feels like thrusting the Gundam on him. This is long but it's even a condensed version of my thoughts and maybe one day I'll write it all out completely when I'm not also dead tired.
Watched Gorg recentlyFun adventure show, although I think the ending was a bit of an anticlimax
>>282897565How so anon? I fully expected the type of ending we got although I didn't expect the changed sides people
>>282897682I didn't dislike the ending but "lmao the island has a barrier" felt like a slight cop out instead of Yuu doing something or the Captain pulling some bullshit.Gorg never got a single scratch the entire show so there wasn't much tension with the fight against the GuardiansAnd Rod getting away with literally everything was funny
>>282895625Shame, despite being Indian she's more American than most Americans.Roy truly missed out.
>>282897829>RodIt's so fucking funny to me he gets the MC treatment with getting laid, getting his gf back, and getting away scott free. He does get it for being able to recognize and rethink his actions a bit.For a this demographic, certainly early teens, I felt this did the wrap up nicely but in regards to the barrier I thought it would have something to do with gorg sacrificing himself or some other robot/people who woke up but leaving him on the island was I guess a way to leave the ending open if they decide to follow it up with a movie or show for nostalgia purposes now.
>>282898052If it was something like Gorg and Manon's guardian resonate to activate the barrier or something I think that would've worked without changing much at all.And to be fair there's no way Doris wasn't jumping on Yuu's dick the second they got off the island too
Fuck Gorg
>>282895906Yes, especially when people know how to mimic it digitally
>>282897829>Gorg never got a single scratch the entire show
>>282897829>Gorg never got a single scratch the entire showBoy wait till you watch God Mars
>>282900861Gorg does kinda lose fights though since the universe won't explode or whatever the fuck if he does, but Gorg losing is like "We pushed him into a hole for a while" or "Yuu is being held hostage so Gorg stopped fighting"He just literally can't take damage even when they have it strapped down in a hangar to try and dismantle himSeveral episodes prior to the last big battle you see not even Manon's laser guns can hurt Gorg so the mass produced shittier guardians just don't even have a hope of doing anything, plus they're retarded enough to attack single file across a bridge instead of swarming from all sides through the water like they do in the very next episode... when Gorg isn't there
Im sorry beforehand, this is not the right place since its a post 2000 show (2003 20+ years old now but still) but i need to vent and i dont think making a whole thread just for that is worth it.I just recently finished the first season of gunslinger girl and loved it, it was moody and sad without being overly edgy but it was also sweet and beautiful in the more poignant moments. I had heard bad things about the 2nd season but i thought it was just a common case of trying to fit too much in one season or maybe and original plot or ending that was stupid or maybe the animation just sucked so i just went and watched the 1st episode.They...fucking raped this anime. Its gone. The gorgeous atmosphere, the enchanting italian vistas, the stoic nature of the characters, the somewhat subtle and subdued storytelling, the not great but decent enough animation, its all fucking gone. I wouldnt be as mad if it was just the complete voice cast change and the terrible artsy op but its like they didnt even fucking try to make the show have any remaining quality compared to the 1st season. Its not like the new studio didnt know how to make a darker toned show either, its fucking Artland, they made Mushishi, what the fuck man. at least the cars arent cg i guessAny oldfags here know details on what the fuck happened? How can a 2nd season so badly comprehend what made a show good? I dont think i've seen such a jarring change in tone in any anime ever.
I heard Tobikage had like no budget and they were forced to reuse a lot of scenes, but man that shit is just comically bad. There's actually a scene where thier fighting in a snow field and it cuts to a reuse shot in the desert they always fight in.
>>282850477Hop in
finally, some good subs
>>282902560It never feld that the animation was bad, it's acceptable for Being an extreme low budget anime, the history was interesting y el doblajillo estuvo buenisimoThe worse case was Ashita no Joe 1. The scape scene where Joe tried to break the door with the pigs was horribly animated and looks More like a comedy scene. At least in Ashita no Joe 2 tms reanimated that scene
>>282898712I'd rather fuck Doris or Sara but okay
