Just in terms of writing qualtiy the whole "D" thing always feels clumsy to me when it's brought up. It's always portrayed like you inherit a name like a genetic physical trait or something. Yes I know it symbolizes a certain linage but we are talking about a name. Everyone can use the name "D" and everyone can just stop using the name D. Maybe Oda larped as a Nobunaga descendant and it snowballed into this.Not too keen on the whole "chosen one" thing and more and more characters having legendary ancestors either. Sometimes less is more and you at least need good--very good--foreshadowing for drastic changes after 20 years. I've seen people argue that Sanji's new backstory was foreshadowed because he always had something aristocratic about him or something. Silly.

I think the biggest problems of One PIece are the pacing and the characters. Too many unimportant characters that fuck up the pacing.
