In some VN the writer mentions he's impressed someone would write a novel intended for one person. Also japanese writers tend to like children's books.
Not just Alice but the whole Wonderland theme stuck around long enough it became a world of it’s own with many adapting their own version of it in other stories and games. It’s a good concept for a fantasy.
