Compared to 99% of modern adaptations, the cast is amazing. People are literally looking for background characters here to whine about niggers. It says a lot about the quality of modern adaptations, but One Piece LA is unironically one of the closest adaptations to the source material in soul, cast, and plot. It's far from perfect, the camera work is crap, some of the wigs and costumes are bad, but simply because they stuck to the original material for the most part it's one of the best adventure TV series in recent years.

I can tell there were some good ideas but it could've been edited down quite a lot and would've been better for it. I know Green Bit and the Tontattas at least were planned to have their own arc, before being shoved into Dressrosa, and their inclusion hurt the pacing. But I'm not sure how much of my dislike for Dressrosa comes from only reading it weekly, I didn't read weekly for Wano, and I actually enjoyed binging it after it had finished. So maybe I'd like Dressrosa more on a reread too.
