I would like to rewatch the whole series again but I'm also a little bit afraid that I would somehow spoil the ultimate experience watching it too many times.I've already watched NNB three times and the last time was not even a year ago (I think). We all love the sublimely understated, characteristically Japanese kind of directing style it has and the beautiful music and so on, but I feel like people sometimes underestimate or take for granted just how great and endearing these characters are. Atto was inspired when he created them and it's the kind of thing that doesn't come around often. Put everything together and you have a genre-defining masterpiece, but people who don't get it will think I'm being hyperbolic and cringe when I say that precisely because the show itself is understated and mostly lighthearted. They are partly right because I'm committing a faux pas by talking about it like this, I should just post a cute picture and type something silly, but I like to take a moment to be serious and say just how much I appreciate this series as a work of art, because I really love it a lot. One thing about autists is that many of them suffer from alexithymia, I think it's like 60% or something, which is a condition where the person doesnt understand what theyre feeling or why theyre feeling it. Nagato Yuki from Haruhi, for example, is a character that's pretty clearly autistic with alexithymia disorder added on. When you compare her and renge, the similarities basiclly end at the deadpan delivery and them being the smartest in their respective shows. Renge might have one or two traits that can be found in autistic people, but that doesn't mean she's autistic. You may as well say that hotarun is autistic because of her "obsession" with plushies and komari plushies specifically
