The problem with these "potion" animes is that the creators use the heckin isekaisloperino to skip all of the fun and intresting portions that would make the show novel, unique, and creative. They're fucking lazy. In the FUNAslop show, the femc just fabricates them out of thin air. In this one, she still had to get the ingredients, but that's a single, tiny step in the right direction. It bypasses potionmaking with the "create" button and a flash of light
When people talk about wanting a potion anime they want a FUCKING POTION anime. They want to see the process. They want to see a young alchemist gathering materials from a nearby forest and river- testing them, researching them, figuring out the best ways to cultivate them in his own garden and how to bring out their properties in the mix. They want to see water and wine poured in a cauldron and tree roots ground up in a mortar and pestel. They want to see colorful smoke plume up from the mixture when he plops a crystal he bought from a traveling dwarf and it knocks the MC into sleep because he was too ambitious and unsafe with his experiments. They want to see an episode where he travels to a nearby glassblowing artisian to negotiate a steady supply of bottles. They want to see a set of adventurers come in and place a large order of unique potions the mc has no idea how to make, and a whole arc of him discovering, testing, finally perfecting the potions that can aid the heroes on their journey. They want to see an episode where he creates a potion to talk to animals and strikes up a deal with the local fauna to bring him rare ingredients in exchange for food. They want to see the mc form a bond with a blond assistant girl named Arisu who becomes his apprentice in alchemy. They want to see the shop grow from a measly, wrickety, rundown shack to a proper artisianal storefront with shelves upon shelves of colorful bottles and feel the satisfaction of growth in knowledge, experience, and wealth.No one has delivered this. It is quite simply too kino to exist...
