In general I think diary and chat group fanfics have potential but you have to check out the first ten chapters or so to see if it’s worthwhile. For example Douluo: My diary made Tang Sanzhong rebel is pretty funny with harem seggs for awhile then went full retard later but I forget why it’s been too long so I dropped it. But the JoJo one is by far the most polished, has meta, and only lacks romance if you want that because MC is too scared of having his IQ drop from romance when Tang San hasn’t been dealt with. Another great chat group one is the Elden Ring one since he gets teamed up with a bunch of shady people like Aizen, Cyberpunk V, Madoka Kyubey, etc and the MC basically abuses mechanics and shit during his runs and the npc pov like Melina is very fun.
