I'm so tired of completely unrealistic depiction of how medicine/drugs affect someone. Yes I can ignore it as a plot device, but it's just jarring when everything else is grounded and realistic

JKA and other Shotokan federations like SKIF still have throws and sweeps (and full force strikes) in their sparring. We still have sweeps and throws in the dojo I go to. Foot sweeps before closing in for me in sparring. Just last week I got ragdolled by a senpai in kumite. I don't know much about Kyokushin though. I haven't see anyone use throws in their kumite.>KudoSucks I can't find any schools that teach that here.

>>282927767Thanks. This arc is finally clicking for me. It's about the graduation of all the types of characters we've seen so far. Yagi went into a gang as expected. Surprisingly, Kenji seems to have become a bit noble. And I think it's symbolic that King is a University student as opposed to a High School student. He's still playing the street game, just in a more sophisticated way.
