Tserriednich's King Crimson is framed as reactive defensive ability, but its actually proactively offensive.
>>
>>282934353
Couldn't it be used as both?
>>
>>282933675
Who did he ask to talk to?
>>
>>282934418
As a defensive ability its pretty weak.
There's a whole slew of abilities and strategies that exist in territory out of the ephemeral 10 seconds.

It makes more sense that its primary function is ambushing or setting up a trap within the initial 10 seconds it allows, after seeking out the opponent and confirming theyre in range.
>>
Hunter x hunter is over.
>>
>>282934490
I really don't see how getting to see the next ten seconds of nen combat and forcing the guy you are fighting to target a ghost instead of you, all for the cost of going into zetsu for an instant, is weak defensively.
You can easily avoid most attacks by just changing your position from the vision you saw and if there's an attack you can't avoid so easily you now know it's coming and can ready your defenses accordingly.
>>
This year two people I have never met IRL but formed attachments to have died and they were much younger than Togashi. Crazy world.
I've never met Togashi but I have an attachment to him. I'm glad he's still kicking desu.
>>
>>282934604
It's difficult to reactivate in the middle of battle.
Realistically you're only getting the first 10 seconds.
And you're also sacrificing an initial second or two in response time, if you went on the offensive afterward.

Nen combat is so volatile that 10 seconds on a relatively ungaurded user is almost certainly fatal.
That's way better spent proactively harming the opponent, than dodging an attack.

And again critically, there are plenty of tactics and strategies that exist outside the scope of the ephemeral 10 seconds.
It should be used offensively.
>>
I feel like the last batch had more weak chapters than usual. The card game stuff didn’t help, but Zhang Lei and Melody’s plotlines weren’t exactly riveting either. The Beyond and Hisoka/Bono/Mafia stuff was quite good though. I really hope this next batch is a banger.
>>
>>282934790
Someone I knew from school died in their mid 20’s recently. Hadn’t talked to the guy in years, and it’s not like we talked much if ever before anyway, but it’s still affected me more than I’d think. Don’t know exactly how he died, but it’s very sobering for that sort of thing to happen.
>>
>>282934915
Well yea, last batch upper tier was pretty much
>beyond kid reveal
>Melody spazzing out about Luzurus
> Kurapika helping Zhang kei with his coins
>Halkenburg vs Benjamin

And then we spent 3.5 chapters in the card game. Compared to the other batches it’s arguably the weakest, but big picture I think the card game will be amazing to look back on if Morena and Borks characters deliver
>>
>>282934915
Melody's are fine, theres some actual interesting psychological tactic in selective information sharing with different princes.

The Zhang Lei stuff is hopefully setting up something with his ability since he's the only Prince who escaped Tier 1, and Xi-Yu is the coolest and least-fucked Mafia family.
I hope he interacts directly with Hienrigh.

>>282934857
>It's difficult to reactivate in the middle of battle.
Ko leaves almost the entire body in a state of unprotected zetsu and nen users manage to use it in the heat of battle, so I don't see why this would be that difficult.
>That's way better spent proactively harming the opponent, than dodging an attack.
Well good thing you literally get to see exactly what they are about to do and can decide if offense or defense is the best course of action depending on it.
>And again critically, there are plenty of tactics and strategies that exist outside the scope of the ephemeral 10 seconds.
If there's some attack after the ten seconds are over, who cares? You only need to not get cocky and simply base your decisions on the fact you only know ten seconds. Knowing a small amount of future events is still better than not knowing anything. This same logic would also apply offensively too. If you saw ten seconds, thought you were safe, and committed to an attack and one of these vague bad abilities you're thinking of happened you'd still be dead, it makes no difference.
>>
>>282935001
PT flashback was based because it confirmed Chrollo as a dark mirror to Pika and Chrollo x Paku
>>
>>282935001
True. I really didn't need a tragic backstory for these guys. Adds nothing to them as characters.
>>
>>282935001
Yes it’s the worst 3 chapter stretch in the arc. But it’s loved because no matter how “le smart and critical ” this fanbase acts, they bow down for shitty fan service for their favorite dumpster tribe
The only saving grace for the flashback is if it has actual plot relevance.
>>
>>282935053
>If you saw ten seconds, thought you were safe, and committed to an attack and one of these vague bad abilities you're thinking of happened you'd still be dead, it makes no difference.
The point is not using the future sight to determine when to attack.
It's determining to attack, setting it up, and then using the King Crimson.

It's way more effective at maximizing offensive capacity, than at being a strong but relatively narrow defensive ability.
>>
>>282935095
To me Togashi just needs to realize some villains are better off without flashbacks/exposed pasts . The mystery surrounding certain characters can influence how interesting they are.
He seems to realize this with Hisoka but not with the troupe.
We didn’t need to know about their past. Anyone with basic comprehension could tell meteor city was a dangerous dumpster dive that they bonded together in, just from yorknew and chimera ant arc. But so shoddily revealing the origin of the troupe, what the fuck Togashi.
All this just to focus on the mirror between Kurapik and Chrollo? We didn’t need a flashback to handle that.
>>
>>282935155
>than at being a strong but relatively narrow defensive ability.
How is it narrow when it let's you know exactly what your opponent's next move is? What more could you want to know? You get a literal play-by-play of what's about to happen and get to decide how you react in advance. I have no idea why you're so obsessed with forcing his ability into only being good at attacking when it's good regardless of the situation as long as you can get it off. Seeing the future is just plain helpful.
>>
>>282935184
We do, because the trope didn't kill the kurta and their motivation is almost the same as kurapika, playing the bad guys to get the bad guys and ultimately Kurapika's revenge is pointless.
>>
>>282935256
>why you're so obsessed with forcing his ability into only being good at attacking
Okay, well if we're not discussing in good faith and just making up shit, then cool.
>>
>>282935291
There it is. Stop it with this schizophrenic garbage. The troupe killed the Kurt’s for their eyes. Your theory would legitimately ruin the manga. Literally Naruto tier theory.
>>
>>282935333
You can't explain the note.
>>
>>282935309
You literally said that using it defensively was bad because it's weak here
>>282934490
>As a defensive ability its pretty weak.
and "narrow" here, whatever that means.
>>282935155
>than at being a strong but relatively narrow defensive ability
I don't know if you think this makes it come off that you think it isn't bad defensively and shouldn't be used that way, but it does.
Here's another in >>282934857 where you say blatantly.
>It should be used offensively.
What am I supposed to think reading this?
And when I made some counter points that proved your perspective to be wrong and dumb you gave up the argument and cried about how I was being unfair. Don't be a fucking idiot next time and actually read what you type.
>>
The rumbling happens whenever Halkenburg shoots an arrow, so who did he shoot when Sumidori (inside Shikaku) killed himself?
>>
>>282935473
The note is so everyone could know the troupe killed them, to build up their and meteor cities reputation.

>>
>>282934353
How can it be defeated? Araki needed to pull GER out of his ass to do it in his manga.

Maybe having such a overwhelming nen offense/defense that it doesn't matter if Tse can see the future, but then again, maybe only the Royal Guards and top 5 humans might be able to get to that level.

I want to see how this plays out but Togashi is lazy, this back pain shit doesn't fly no more, he could draw on his bed with proper equipment if he actually felt like it.

Except no one refers to them like this, even in the action they pretty much only know the kurata as a clan with red eyes and nothing else, the ryodan or meteor city didn't need to genocide a village for recognition and leave what obvious is a revenge note. Someone was framing meteor city and the ryodan just took the credit.

I would even argue considering what happened with their friend, the ryodan would not low themselves as stealing organs.

You were wrong about this, it ruins the rest of the argument in my opinion. The flashback makes it clear multiple times that the Kurta have been known as agents of the devil for hundreds of years, and only avoided discrimination because they’ve constantly changed locations and went into hiding.

Togashi probably has a more severe case, sure, but he can massively improve his output if he actually felt like it, from drawing in bed to hiring a artist, he can do it.

Tserriednich makes himself vulnerable by using his ability, Diavolo didn't. Nen users also have superhuman physiques, Stand users don't. In a real fight, Tserriednich will have trouble seriously injuring an active opponent. King Crimson also lets Diavolo just phase through bullets, but Tserriednich's doesn't. His ability is better for running away.

Phinks and Feitan killed delivery people (not mafia) for Greed Island, then went inside and competed to see who could kill more people, knowing full well they were players and would die irl. Chrollo also killed dozens of people in his fight with Hisoka and he specifically chose the location so he had access to people he could sacrifice. You also can't defend them killing hunters-for-hire working for the mob, because even if you reason mobsters are criminals, no one in the entire world is so righteous as to consider their bodyguards guilty by association. Consider who those bodyguards are: Kurapika and Melody. Later on, Kurapika becomes the underboss which now implicates Gon, Leorio and Biscuit. Are these five worth killing? If so, everyone in the world is, and there's no such thing as good, meaning the Troupe aren't either and I can classify them however I want: they're evil.

>How can it be defeated?
The only types of abilities I can see hard countering it, from someone who doesn't know how Tse's ability works and is fighting blind, are homing attacks that don't rely on the user's sight and automatically follow Tse regardless, even then these attacks would have to be so strong that he couldn't just tank them. And if you have a never miss attack that can't be tanked, you have an insanely OP ability.
The only hatsu that fits this description is Welfin's, which even then he would most likely have to activate it before Tse uses the ability so it doesn't misfire. This is hardly a knock against Tse's ability as Missileman is one of the single most broken hatsu in the whole series and is SSS-tier.
The other option is a self manipulator who activates their ability before Tse activates his. We have seen some self manipulators in the series and none of them constantly manipulate themselves or pull it out immediately, so even this seems very limited as a counter.
>>
>>282943195
It's still questionable how exactly the illusion part of it works.
My assumption is it manipulates living beings in the area, which means things like automatic turrets would still detect Tse.

She could die offscreen, and then we meet someone who had already broken the taboo, showing us what the consequences are even though she's dead.
I'd be surprised if she died easily though, her GSB has been collecting aura for something and is an emitter. I'm guessing it would defend with a big nen blast if she was in danger.
>>
>>282945352
Oh, that makes a lot of sense. There's a lot of awkward dialogue in Hunter x Hunter that people just nod along with without actually understanding and assume someone will explain it to them later if it's important and that happens a few times with Taithon. If this is why, that'd make perfect sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tyson turned out to be trans, but I don't think we have enough clues yet. It's just for now:

>Her mother says she doesn't expect her to have children
Until there’s something more blatant, I wouldn’t call it “implied,” but I can see where the theory comes from.

10話分の指定が完了しました。引き続き原稿を進めていきます。
My translation: I’ve finished the designation (referring to direction for assistants) for 10 chapters. I’ll keep working on the manuscripts from here.
T.N. manuscript (原稿) here is the inking process for characters (ペン入れ), so he should be working on chapter 425 onward (he finished 421-424 inking of characters already). It's still unlikely we will get more than 10 chapters, seeing how long the designation process is taking. Still shouldn't take longer than a year for batch 421-430.

Togashi realized that there’s 0 reason to go full autists about chapter art like Miura or Murarata when it’s a lot more extra work for little payoff. When you’re a weekly mangaka it’s way smarter to take leeway on your art to save health/effort.
Togashi isn’t the first mangaka to do this but he’s probably one of the most prominent examples

I like the arc overall but I'm not going to pretend I enjoy the parts like the one in the last bach with the card game between that rando and Morena. I know Togashi likes this stuff and I'm sure it's enjoyable to some people, but I find it very hard to care about this literally who and her literally who little group.
>>
>>282948225
It’s not ugly at all nor is it outdated. It got remastered like a month ago so it’s even more polished now.

ugh forget what I asked. Video games suck. Let's just talk about HxH.
>>
>>282948465
Video games are great. I’m just saying there aren’t much games that are “like” HunterxHunter. There are games that share certain aspects but if you’re not a true gamer it’s hard to recommend because it means you’re probably very picky with what games you play.
>>
>>282948403
She told us about the Nen type distribution and explained Specialization better than anyone had before, so for general Hunter x Hunter fans there was at least a few pages of good content. These threads mostly liked the chapters when they were coming out because Bork's cute and Morena acts cute despite both of them also obviously being dead serious, literally. It was also fun to see what Bork would do. Was it a little longer? Yes, but so was the PT flashback, and so was the notorious Rihan/Kanjido/Basho inner monologues. This isn't new.

I don't get why you're calling Morena a literally who, though. She was on a volume cover and is controlling the conflict on the lower decks. The only characters more important than her are Kurapika and Tserriednich.

That's you creating some imaginary priority list. It's Togashi's story, he's the one who decides what's important.

Also, the story ending isn't important. I don't get this plot resolution faggotry. A story isn't good when it ends, it's good when it's happening. It doesn't have to end.
>>
Is theta irrelevant now in the grand scheme of things? Bork already seems to have more plot importance than her

the proclamation of martial law seems to be the official start of the next segment of the succession contest, now every chapter could feature a timer, how long has it been since the announcement and how much time does benjamin have left
>>
>>282949268
I mean, everyone except
>TOGASHI WILL FINISH AND IF YOU DONT AGREE YOURE A DOOMER
People recognize that. Weee just happy because the past 2 years he’s been pretty active.
Even if he did 10 chapters a year consistently it would still take maybe a decade minimum (100 chapters) to step foot on the DC, and by then Togashi will be 69. Heh.
>>
>>282949405

>>
Togashi wants to come right when JJK comes back. Coward.
>>
>>282949447
It definitely was some bullshit, after like 30 chapters in a year and a half we got a 4 years hiatus.
The last one was pretty awful too, you'd think the chapters would come out earlier but we got another 2 years.
It may sound insane but it's been 7 years already since that batch with Kacho death, Tserri's King Crimson and Rihan's infamous page.
>>
>>282949752
I think Togashi can’t go on another year+ long hiatus. If we can get 10 chapters a year from now on we’ll be good. We won’t finish the story, but we’ll see the succession war fully.
>>
>>282948658
>so was the PT flashback, and so was the notorious Rihan/Kanjido/Basho inner monologues.
Inner monologues are one or two pages long. And they are part of the numerous plots of the current arc. PT flashback was 3 chapters long that had nothing to see with the SW.
>>
>>282949343
Nah, this is not the next segment nor the chimera ant equivalent of the palace invasion.
This will be one batch long or maybe somewhere on the next one after and it will be the end of this segment.
Then we'll get another 3 batches or so of build up with some action here and there and then we'll get the climax when the boat starts sinking and Morena's crew attack the first tier for another 50 or 60 chapters.
>>
>>282949128
Morena stated that Borksen was important but replaceable. On the other hand Theta is more important for Tserriednich since nen users that can teach nen are not common.

How about Togashi just release more chapters or only release chapters about Kurapika, the princes and the Phantom Troupe?
>>
>>282950352
Sure, but it's how it's going to come all together, there's a reason why he's dumping this information now, it's how writing works.
The phantom troupe, meteor city's trafficking, the mafia, Morena saying the Heil-ly managed a human trafficking ring, the Kurta, Tserrie and all the eyes he has plus Pairo's head, the tatoo guy who mysteriously gets mentioned as the only one left from the old family...It's all linked my guy. The orphan guy was most likely working with the previous boss or was part of the Heil-ly mafia himself at some point.

I thought Ludacris was a funny rapper, all good fun and acting in movies, was it a lie?

You know, something no one's talked about is how Basho will react to Kacho's assassination plan. Melody and Basho are supposed to be working together. They are technically working for Kurapika, as well as being friends with him, and he wants to force a stalemate and for hopefully no more people to die. Basho also likely has some kind of loyalty to Luzurus since he has also paid for his services as a bodyguard and they've bonded over the past few weeks (or longer). Would Basho really be cool with Melody assassinating him? Did she tell him?

It's hard to believe Melody herself is cool with this plan, which is why so many fans think they're actually rusing Kaiser. Kaiser is the one who first told them that he wanted to assassinate the upper princes for Fugetsu's sake and Melody couldn't believe he openly said something like that. Them now coming to him with an assassination plan feels like an act.
>>
>>282954817
Imagine the schwing
>>
>>282955148
It is rather poorly thought out and impulsive.

Melody is probably manipulated or rusing Kaiser.
Notably they switch into this aggressive gear after she's made the efficacy of her flute visible all princes and guards.

There's also maybe a proactive coalition within the supposedly neutral judicial.

Luzurus has three plots collapsing on top of him: Kaiser is planning on assassinating him, Benjamin is planning on assassinating him and none of the Nen users on the lower tiers are actually his allies (Troupe want his money, Ei-i want him dead for the EXP, Shu-u are considering backstabbing the the Sha-a due to Lynch's death and Wang is a double agent for Morena). I think this is Togashi saying Luzurus isn't going out without a fight.

>>282957756
Lots of people call the Chimera Ant Arc the greatest arc in shounen and this is a similar arc. The Chimera Ant Arc is so praised for two reasons: the development multiple major characters go through during it (Gon, Killua) and the Palace Invasion being like watching a chain reaction of characters falling into each other in ways that were unforeseeable. This arc involves even more major characters, with Kurapika being on his last eyes and the Troupe and Hisoka determined to kill each other for good. This arc is also like a soft Palace Invasion from the beginning, as the contest began a chapter after they got on board and the Troupe got wrapped up in mafia drama a chapter after they were revealed on board. So compared to the Chimera Ant Arc, there's like 60% more plotlines, which means an even bigger chain reaction being set up, and there's less of a lull like the Chimera Ant Arc. Also, Yorknew is the second most popular arc, and this is basically Yorknew 2.0, being told by a post-CA Togashi, so it's like the two best arcs combined.

>>
>>282958422
>>282958335
This. The arc is EASILY Togashi’s most ambitious , maybe only beat by a hypothetical DC arc.
People say this arc is yorknew 2.0, but it feels like the best parts of yorknew (mind games, plans, the darkness in human conflict) combined with the best parts of the Ca arc (emotional plot lines, shonen flair, gigantic conflict, philosophical undertones)

Except the succession war has 10x the mind games of the Yorknew arc and 10x the lit level undertones of the chimera ant arc.

>>
>>282959121
What does overrated mean for a character ? In strength or like nen ability?
>>
>>282959465
I think people overemphasize his cool moment, in an already really fascinating story.

He himself is not that interesting to me.
He's one of a dozen ants that conspire or imagine themselves conspiring to become "king" when they clearly aren't capable.
His ability is really absurd and random, and isnt used in any sort of creative or interesting ways.
The whole Ikalgo subplot during the palace invasion is really boring, and doesn't pay off, and is probably the weakest.

Welfin's critical role, courageously reminding Meruem of Komugi in the face of his own annihilation, is fungible.
A number of other characters could have done the same thing narratively.
>>
>>282958952
I also think this arc will go “deeper” than the chimera ant arc ever went. People like to simplify the arc too just nen hijinks in a political setting but there’s seeds for massive massive writing depth. Of course , it all depends on what Togashi wants.

The emotional beats of this arc are just straight up BETTER. Kurapika having to deal with protecting woble while potentially seeing Pairos head , Tserrienich, Chrollo, etc is much more interesting than Gons vengeance for Kite and Killua’s emotional sadness (and I love those aspects). Meanwhile that’s literally one plotline of the arc.

Nta, but being delusional schizos is part of /a/, sure, that doesn't stop it from being stupid. Miura was lazier with a full 6+ production team throughout his entire career, but doesn't get this shit.
>>
>>282958952
I wouldn't describe it that way yet, but I'd like to think it'll get there eventually. Most of the characters are background fodder or one-note. It's been cool to see characters like Longhi and Borksen gain an identity, but then you also have all the people who cry not to add anymore characters. If I compare it to A Song of Ice and Fire, which I think was probably one of the things that inspired the arc, there's still not enough active characters. Each prince has like half a dozen bodyguards we haven't even seen in a panel and that includes hunters.

>>282959727
Ikalugo not murdering Brovuda and Welfin is what allowed that moment to happen, as well as Reina reuniting with her mother, so it was Togashi showing the power is Ikalugo's mercy, which he himself mistook for cowardice. It completes Gon and Killua's narratives. What Gon did was wrong, but he was saved by his past good deeds. He showed Killua the "light" and he in turn showed it to Ikalugo; Killua removed his needle for Gon's sake, which allowed him to remember Alluka. So it was one massive domino effect stemming from Gon being such a good person throughout the story. It also set up Gyro, which will be Gon's final opponent.

You have to remember a large part of the reason for giving Togashi shit is his inability to simply admit he's got writer's block and instead just blame his back problems all the time. I do hate on Togashi for being a lazy faggot, but why would that make me want him to end his manga? Those are two unrelated things. Crying about it also doesn't do anything.

The problem is some people have these strange irrational complexes. For example, this complex that a story isn't good or bad, but instead exists in some quantum state, until the author officially declares it over. That's just retarded. The ending doesn't complete a story, it's just its final state, but stories are constantly fluctuating through their state, and those fluctuations themselves are what people find entertaining and interesting, and the state is what determines the message, so the conclusion is just the final message, what you might call the "true" message since it's final, but why would I care about that above everything else? I might disagree with the message or dislike how it got there. I've dropped dozens of anime and manga right at the ending, simply because it stopped being entertaining and I didn't care what message the author was trying to peddle to me. It's not a big deal.

The other complex is the idea that "waiting" costs something. It doesn't. While I'm "waiting" for the next batch, I'm also "waiting" for The Winds of Winter and "waiting" for the next Souls game and "waiting" for the next Deltarune chapter and "waiting" for a hundred other things. How do I find the time for all this WAITING, anon? Because it's literally fucking nothing. Do you read one manga and that's it, that's your fucking life or something? The world is full of cool shit, why would I sit here staring at my monitor waiting for updates? Do you not find that mentally ill?

This isn't even the only thread I'm in and I'm also watching Pekora play FFVII.

It's not writer's block, it's drawing limitations. I agree that he should let someone else be the main artist, but ultimately it's a trade off he's decided not to do. It's not strictly Japanese pride, Kishi's Squid 8 would have benefited from Kishi's art. Weebs downplay Togashi's art, but it comes from a more personal indie sphere(Garo) which made the medium what it is today. The composition, including the drawings themselves, are a part of HxH's personality.

I'll have to disagree that it's even an actual point, it's logical and would make perfect sense if it was like this from the beginning, but the reality is this stems entirely from MALshitter culture being the driving force with big three+third rate console-warring, now it's just a moving of goalposts. It's a fair personal gripe though.
>>
I just realized something. Togashi said he will go back to inking manuscripts. Normally he'd do volume corrections first, or the color page for the 1st chapter of the batch, or the volume cover. So it's either he finished those things already and the return is very very soon, or that he DIDN'T and doesn't intend to return right now at 10 chapters which is even better news as it implies he is going for 20 chapters this time. Either case it's a win win, return very soon or 20 chapters.

>Togashi hasn't explicitly told us about that, though,
It's a very safe bet as Halkenburg was still testing out his power to mine more info, the rooms all have the same entryway layouts, and the rumbling is always an indication they are getting ready to shoot. It's easy to see that they used "Shikaku's" suicide as a signal that someone had answered the door to 1007.

>a lot of anons don't believe it
I can see why they might argue against it. Especially because in the last batch Halkenburg does not make any mention of an experiment between Shikaku and Vict which is where Rice theoretically would have been possessed. But the question still remains, why were the Halkencrew juicing up aura when "Shikaku" went for his play?

>only for fucking Rice or whoever to blast him.
It would actually make sense. We can get a flashback to see how Luzurus got away from Benjamin and his worm GSB helped by laying traps to get the normal soldiers coming after Luzurus under manipulation. Only for "Rice" to later get the kill because First-come, First-Served means the traps can't work on him. But at the same time, maybe Luzurus's creature is smart and conjures a trap in such a way that L or Basho can realize something isn't right with "rice".

There's just a lot of story potential for this possession which is why I still think it happened.
>>

Does the number of guards carrying Halkenburg’s casket line up with the fact he should be down two men right now because they’re possessing Vict and Rhys?

I went and checked. There were 12 guards carrying Halkenburg’s casket. According to the character sheet Togashi posted last year, Halkenburg has 14 personal guards, so that lines up with guards currently possessing both Vict AND Rhys.
>>
>>282963018
I don't believe the rumbling was directed to room 1007 and that Rice got hit by Halkenburg's attack. He would have had to blindly aim through several walls. The rumbling was probably Halkenburg testing his ability.

It's 12 guards which is a big point against the Rice conspiracy as Halkenburg only has 14 personal guards. It's possible they have a stand-in but Benjamin would probably have someone confirm it's really Halk's crew with the casket. I'm willing to be wrong on this one.

>>282963516
It wouldn't be blind firing. Room 1009 and 1007 are next to each other and their front doors are in the same spot. We already saw Halkenburg fire through a wall to hit Balsamilco by using references, this shot would be much easier.

Tubeppa’s flash drive, the guy who wants the autographs, Tserriednich henchman needing a “gift” after the Kurapika class, etc. there’s like 50 little things like this. Is Togashi gonna deliver on all of them?
>>
>>282963566
Would 12 guards carrying the casket be in support of the Rhys conspiracy? Halkenburg has 14 personal guards, but one is currently possessing Vict, so the other missing guard would be possessing Rhys, right? Unless your point is that Sumidori wouldn’t be a viable candidate to help carry the casket, since his consciousness is switching between his own and Shikaku’s right now.
>>
>>282963679
No, I was just about to reply that the math still works because I neglected that they can just put Shikaku "asleep" in Sumidori's body and that gives us 12 guards and 2 actively possessing other bodies.
>>
>>282963566
>We already saw Halkenburg fire through a wall to hit Balsamilco by using references, this shot would be much easier.
For the Balsamilco's shot they had to have him in sight by one of them and communicate with hand gestures his exact placement, even though they were separated by a single wall.
A blind shot to another room seems unrealistic.

>A blind shot to another room seems unrealistic.
It's really not, it's the simplest shot of the two.

>Have Sumidori to to the front door or 1007
>ring the bell
>wait for someone to answer
>this means they have someone in front of the video screen
>the same screen in the exact same location as every other room
>Sumidori pulls the trigger indicating someone is there
>shoot

Given the blueprints the video phone seems to be at the doors connecting the living area to the entryway. The phone in Kurapika's room is in the same place and on the same side of the doors. That means Halkenburg knows where to aim and has very reasonable odds of hitting whoever answered the comms, or anyone else that might have been standing in the way. In either case it's a sure shot.
>>
>>282963516
It wasn't blind. They know the layout and "Shikaku" yelled after Rice answered him. The yell would've been him confirming for Halkenburg that a target was positioned at the door. This might not be the case, but Balsamilco and Kanjidol thought something was done in the room.

>>282963566
>>282963679
For clarification:

Sumidori is dead. Dead dead. Halkenburg doesn't say this outright, but he says that Shikaku was in his body, and in the event that the target's body dies first (which is what happened when Sumidori-in-Shikaku shot himself) and then he trails off and explains that sacrifices must be made. So if he shoots someone to put his guy in their body, then they kill the body, Halk's buddy is gone and his enemy gets to keep their body.

Vict has both Vict and one of the guards in him. Vict has control when awake. This is the same arrangement Halk has in Balsamilco's body, that's how he knows how it works.

So if Halkenburg also put a plant in 1007, he shouldn't have 12 guards.

Unless they're following his orders. Rice is Duazul's guard. Since Halkenburg being Unma's son isn't public knowledge and Duazul has always taken credit as his mother regardless, Rice might be perfectly willing to help Halkenburg in this situation. He might also feel forced to since he has very little agency in his current situation. He's only awake when his body sleeps, at the mercy of Halk's other guards, and the authorities aren't going to believe he's in the wrong body due to magic bullshit. So what can he realistically do? It doesn't benefit Halk to kill him either (yet). The only problem is that they'd have to rely on Rice's body going to bed and staying asleep during the procession, but maybe a phone call to Duazul would settle that.

I don't get what putting a dude in Luzurus's room does, though. Also, wouldn't the hunters notice he just suddenly awakened? That'd at least make them watch him like a hawk.
>>
Who will be the next prince to die besides Benjamin and maybe Halkenburg? Benjamin can’t go out in marital law without offing at least one prince. Luzurus seems to have the least plot relevance and was already a target of Melody. Tyson and Tubeppa still have plot threads. Maryam has nothing but he is protected by Bisky, Hanzo, and multiple guards. I don’t see Fugetsu dying when we’re still in the thick of the ghost Kacho storyline. We haven’t even seen Camilla’s seed beast ability and her curse users haven’t done shit yet. Zhangs abiltiy and character implies he’ll be here for a long while.

I genuinely can’t tell who it’ll be. My guess is luzurus because he looks pissed in Togashi’s drawing

>Sumidori is dead. Dead dead.
Sumidori's body is now host to both Shikaku and himself. Halkenburg's ability ties two minds together in the swap and favors his side for priority when activated and alternates who controls whose bodies initially. In the case either body dies the victim is granted priority in the swap and will re-awaken either in their own body or the other.

This is why Halkenburg took sleeping pills in Balsamilco's body before his death. So that he'll have about 10 more hours of being in control before Balsamilco "wakes up" and takes control. Otherwise he would just have died and that's the end of him as his ability works the same for everyone.

>I don't get what putting a dude in Luzurus's room does, though
Further testing for one. Luzurus is also an older prince so Halk can probably rationalize this decision as working towards taking out the competition. I doubt he knows about Luzurus' mafia connection as Halk knows nothing about Tserriednich's activities but he's not going to target a younger prince as room 1011 is Fuugetsu's room.

>wouldn't the hunters notice he just suddenly awakened?
It depends on how obvious the aura signature is. Kurapika could tell the two halk guards in his class were awakened but couldn't tell that Loberry was also under the influence of an ability. Babimyna also couldn't tell that Oito was awakened thanks to Stealth Dolphin. Melody only has her hearing to rely on for Kaiser being manipulated because otherwise he's completely normal as a person by appearances.

I can't fathom the people who keep saying how Halkenburg will die, aka be out of the contest. His physical body literally just died, and that's Togashi's way of screaming how he already did the worst he could for him and how from now on Halkenburg is practically untouchable, it would absolutely make no sense for Togashi to infodump on his ability and hype him up for 2 chapters last batch just to make him definitely die. I suggest the no autopsy thing and the fact that his soul is still alive will play a huge part when he wins, as it will be related to the ritual chamber. Everything is setting up for his victory, with several younger princes staying alive. But no, it would make absolutely no sense in narration to kill him once again, and would be such a waste. Halkenburg will not only take Benjamin down (or at least play a part in it), but will also confront Tserriednich in a way or another because of how Togashi keeps pairing those two together.

That's the part we will see (hopefully) in the next batch, but from experience, Halkenburg is way, way smarter than his fellow siblings let alone Benjamin so there's no way he didn't have a plan beforehand. Halkenburg had always planned accordingly and surprised us so I doubt he didn't have something up his sleeves when he planned to poison Benjamin. He explicitly said how he already had a plan to be the winner, so I'm sure it goes way beyond merely poisoning Benjamin for now.

As in him being dead and gone forever. You said Sumidori was "dead dead" and that Shikaku was the only one inside Sumidori's body.

Halkenburg's current plan hinges on the fact that even if his body is gone his soul will persist past that.

You are assuming that when the attacker's side dies on the victim's body, the attacker goes back. Ex: Sumidori kills himself in Shikaku's body, then Sumidori's soul goes back to his body and shares his body with Shikaku's soul.
But Halkenburg never confirms that, he says that the result is obvious or something like that while talking about sacrifices.
So it's a sacrifice based ability, and most likely, when Sumidori killed himself using Shikaku's body, only Shikaku's soul woke up inside Sumidori's body. Sumidori's soul died with Shikaku's body when he shot himself.
It's an ability harsh on the attacker's side because it's OP and they are ready to sacrifice themselves.

>You are assuming
I'm re-stating what Halkenburg already knows. After Sumidori committed suicide it was Shikaku that woke up first. And then when the "Body" went to sleep Sumidori woke up next. Why else do you think Halkenburg made sure to knock Balsamilco's body out before his real body died?

>he says that the result is obvious or something like that while talking about sacrifices.
He was specifically referencing
1) What happens to the one inhabiting the target's body if they die first dies first

and

2) what happens when their current body dies next and the target's mind doesn't have a place to return too.

It's obvious that if both bodies die then both souls are permanently lost. And this is relevant to himself because his real body just died so if he dies in Balsamilco's body it's game over.

Being willing to put their life on the line is what gives them initial priority. And unless this ability can be shut off after use it means that each arrow will permanently share a relationship with whoever they were fired into.

In the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, his death occurred in 2003, in the arms of his life-long love, Daisy, who was by then an elderly woman. The film ends with Benjamin physically appearing as an infant, while his mind had developed normally for his age.

As for Halkenburg's ability, you have it wrong. The ability is not symmetrical. Halkenburg explains in Chapter 404 how they tested his current scenario on Vict already, but then he says this:
>Therefore what we needed to test were the two following scenarios. One, if the body of the targeted dies first!! What happens to the soul inside it?
So when Sumidori-in-Shikaku killed himself, where does Sumidor's soul go?
>As for Scenario 1… it’s not a big problem if we focus only on achieving our goal without considering my own reservations…! Being a soul who is not afraid of self-sacrifice for the greater good must be the requirement for participating in my Ability… And therefore, the results are obvious with no need for proof!!
He's saying his men can only help him if they're willing to sacrifice themselves, even though this goes against his own scruples. Do you understand what this means? It means when Sumidori-in-Shikaku shot himself in the head, Sumidori sacrificed himself. He's dead. The logic behind the ability is that Halkenburg's followers are given control over other people's bodies, so they're now responsible for that body, so if they destroy it they pay the price for it and the abducted gets to keep their body as compensation.

However, he does point out that he never tested this. When Sumidori's body woke up after the gunshot, Shikaku was inside, and it sounds like they didn't bother testing to see if Sumidori would take over when he slept. They must've killed Shikaku-in-Sumidori shortly after he gave them his ID number.
>>
>>282968551
>Balsamilco and Halkenburg are sharing a single body as we speak.
That doesn't mean it will last forever. I don't think it has been been confirmed but I personnaly think one of the two souls will end up dying after a while.
>You said Sumidori was "dead dead" and that Shikaku was the only one inside Sumidori's body.
I'm another anon. I wouldn't say that Sumidori is dead because it has never been confirmed. We don't even know who woke up in his physical body after the death of Shikaku. And we don't know the whereabouts of Shikaku's soul.

Might have to reread Halkenburg's inner monologue about how a conqueror has to get along with the idea of sacrifice but I remember it was unclear on a first read.
>>
>>282971266
>When Sumidori's body woke up after the gunshot, Shikaku was inside
IIRC it has never been confirmed who woke up in Sumidori's body after the death of Shikaku. There might have more rules that we don't know about or it might even be random.
>>
>>282970761
I have a feeling it's going to be the other way around: Benjamin's soul will die and his son will get his body, and it'll be like when D4C changes which Valentine it's following. Benjamin has been pitted as the opposite of Halkenburg and Halkenburg just explained how the succession contest requires both body and soul to be gone in order for a prince to drop out. Since Halkenburg sacrifices his body, it makes sense Benjamin would sacrifice his soul, but his body will still be in the contest.

>>282971327
>We don't even know who woke up in his physical body after the death of Shikaku
Halkenburg said Sumidori used Shikaku's ID after waking up. This could be referring to every single time he woke up, since they had swapped bodies for a couple days, but Halkenburg didn't seem to be confused about that. They already tested this. And Writing 101 says you don't show us a scene of Halkenburg going, "Give us your deets," then later have him use those same words to reference shit that happened offscreen but NOT the one scene you showed us.
>And we don't know the whereabouts of Shikaku's soul.
He's dead, Benjamin has his ability.

It's confusing because so many words can have more than meaning and it needs to be specified, but if you go over his monologue carefully it becomes mostly clear.
>>
>>282971544
We know it was Shikaku through process of elimination: Halkenburg says they didn't test where the soul of the follower goes if the target's body dies first. Why would he say that if Sumidori woke up and identified himself as Sumidori? His soul's right there.

THINK, Rihan!
>>
>>282971629
We just literally don't know.
He has intentionally not confirmed to us, for narrative tension.
>>
>>282971602
>He's dead, Benjamin has his ability.
Ok but that doesn't mean Sumidori hasn't reintegrated his own physical body and that Balsamilco's soul won't reintegrate his body after the death of Halkenburg's soul.
>>
Halkenburg is jumping into Tseri's body.
>>
>>282971602
>Halkenburg just explained how the succession contest requires both body and soul to be gone in order for a prince to drop out
that’s his interpretation of the rules.
shows that he’s too far gone now.
>>
>>282970529
No, you are not right, I read it again with context and other translations.
By being shot there he is talking about the arrow, not the gun.
After they used the ability, Sumidori was in Shikaku's body, and then when it went to sleep Shikaku inside Sumidor swoke up and Sumidori inside Shikaku wouldn't wake up no matter what.
What happens to the ally's soul in the target's body when the target's body dies is not explicitly said by Halkenburg, but he says that the result is obvious because of the sacrifice and all of that.
So yeah, like said, the ally's soul most likely dies with target's body and does not return to his original body, the victim keeps it for themselves.
>>
>>282971790
You mean after some arbitrary amount of time passes? I guess you're right, we have no way of knowing that. We have no idea if whether everyone will be resurrected in 20 years with no lasting harm to them. We just don't know. :^)

As far as Halkenburg is aware, Sumidori's dead. Shikaku's dead, because Benjamin has his ability. Halkenburg tells us when Sumidori woke up he gave Shikaku's number. Halkenburg does not think Sumidori was hiding in there, though he says they didn't test it. This means Sumidori woke up, said he was Shikaku, so they killed him. They didn't give him time to fall asleep and see if Sumidori controlled the body. But Halkenburg simply doesn't think that's how it works, despite fans for some reason thinking it does.

For Togashi to have a pacifist who loves his followers accept their death without absolutely confirming it, to me, says it's a continuity decision. If Benjamin didn't get Shikaku's ability until 24 hours after he shot himself in the head, that'd be weird, and Benjamin would be thrown even more onto the track of how Halkenburg's ability works. Togashi didn't want that, so he just had Halkenburg intuit that his followers die for good in that scenario.

But it also makes sense when you consider the lopsided nature of the ability. Nen is all about balance. It's ridiculous for Halkenburg to have this unblockable arrow, but it's balanced by it not actually being lethal, BUT if they can just wake up and sudoku themselves, then it really is just an unblockable shot. Letting the follower return to their body after they just took over some other person's body and offed it feels unfair.

It's still technically possible because he didn't test it, but sometimes characters say wild shit because it's simply true and Togashi doesn't want to waste the reader's time. This happens a lot in Hunter x Hunter.

>the ally's soul most likely dies with target's body and does not return to his original body, the victim keeps it for themselves.
The fact that Halkenburg knows that Balsamilco's soul is gonna awake in Balsamilco's body after the death of Halk's physical body means that rules are different when the ally's physical body dies.
>>
>>282972278
It doesn't sound like it's possible because Halkenburg's ability requires the GSB and the GSBs won't attack the princes. Balsamilco explained this to Kanjidol, he doesn't think Halkenburg can shoot princes. People want Tserriednich to be shot, though, because he has King Crimson and Diavolo has a split personality with Doppio, so they want him to get one, too. I just don't see it happening unless a crazy sequence of events leads to it. I think at some point Chrollo and/or Hisoka will end up getting tangled up with the soul swapping.

>>282972315
Yes. If the rules were the same, it wouldn't have needed such a long-winded explanation that jumps all over the place.
>>
This is what Halk says
>Therefore what we needed to test were the two following scenarios. One, if the body of the targeted dies first!! What happens to the soul inside it? And Two, if the soul of the targeted no longer has a body to return to, and also loses the body it currently inhabits, what happens…? For Scenario Two, the answer is obvious if you consider the fact that this Ability is manifested with help from a Guardian Spirit Beast who is working to win the Succession Contest, and the aforementioned necessary condition.)
>(As for Scenario 1… it’s not a big problem if we focus only on achieving our goal without considering my own reservations…! Being a soul who is not afraid of self-sacrifice for the greater good must be the requirement for participating in my Ability… And therefore, the results are obvious with no need for proof!!)
It's scenario 1 and he's clearly saying that in the case of target's body dying first, it's obvious that the soul there dies too, they are sacrificing themselves. When Shikaku woke up in Sumidori's body after Sumidori shot himself in Shikaku's body, Halk knew Sumidori's soul was completely gone and killed Shikaku, which made him pass his ability to Benjamin.

>By being shot there he is talking about the arrow, not the gun.
No, after Shikaku was shot with the arrow, Sumidori's body fell to the ground and Sumidori was controlling Shikaku's body. There was no service number recital.
It was after Sumidori shoots himself in Shikaku's body, that Sumidori's body wakes up and Halk asks for his service number.
>>
I haven't been involved in this discussion, but it seems to me that the point of contention is what happens when the victim wakes up in the ally's body.
1. The victim soul takes over the ally body forever, the ally soul dies (sacrifice theory)
2. The victim and target soul alternate forever (symmetry theory)

I agree now that it's heavily implied >>282972851 that it's 1.
I got some things cleared up myself by following your conversation, thank you everyone.

>>282974144
There was, off screen. The ID thing he talks about there is not the one we saw after the gun shot, he made the same question to Sumidori after Sumidori inside Shikaku's body went to sleep.
The explanation you share was proving the current situation with Halk inside Balsamilco and Balsamilco inside of Halk like he is saying, which is what they tested inside the quarters, not what happens to the soul inside the target's body after dying. It's very clear if you read it again, otherwise Halkenburg wouldn't be "wondering" about what happens in that exact scenario and conclude that the answer is obvious because they are ready to self sacrifice.

>Being a soul who is not afraid of self-sacrifice for the greater good must be the requirement for participating in my Ability
I want to highlight this line because it has a potentially interesting double meaning.

For one, it's another similarity to Benjamin as Benjamin Baton requires undying loyalty to activate. But the other is that this doesn't mean every arrow marked follower is eligible to be fired. We didn't get a narrator's box but obviously someone has to be loyal to Halkenburg to retain their marks. But Grimmel might only draw on those who have a higher degree of determination, meaning Halkenburg can use normal people who just agree with him as fuel, and a small cabal of loyalists (including himself) as the ammunition.

I don't doubt that the people on Tier 2 he recruited had a those willing to die for the cause. But I think this might explain why he got shot instead of the group as it might not have contained enough people with die-hard loyalty.

>>282974820

>>282975078
Considering he said he was about to end it in like a day, his plan is most likely just forcing Benjamin to do what he is doing now.
The princes die, he dies, Benjamin dies, and the next king is Benjamin's son, making their mother the ruler.
People seem under the impression that he has something crazy under his sleeve but he doesn't, the moment he was chosen by the arrow and changed with Balsamilco it was game over for Halkenburg. If Balsa wakes up inside his original body he's fucked, and if they both share it, he's on a time limit before Balsa wakes up, reports it to Benjamin and kills himself. His last option is taking advantage of the poison and make a kamikaze attempt.
>>282975093
For sure, it wasn't bad luck, I'm 100% convinced the arrow choose him because most of the common people don't have the resolve he and his guards have, otherwise the arrow would have chosen a guard. In this case he was the only one ready to die there.

Maybe it has a way of following both, but regardless, wasting his body didn't "kill" him so it didn't intervene. >Maybe it has a way of following both
It would be interesting if the lingering marks on people like Worio were the result of the GSB having it's own post mortem nen activation. But I think it's safe to assume the creature is still alive. Especially if Halkenburg's next phase of the plan involves firing himself into another target after he assassinates Benjamin. It's just that this kind of transfer is unprecedented in the story and it can still go either way.

This still begs the question about what his plan would have been if he hadn't been the arrow. He would have had to had the means of faking his death and vitals, but reviving afterwards.

>The very existence of Nencho proves it isn't so black and white.
I think Nencho just builds off of Sale-Sale's logic. Not all nen beasts are on the same level of awareness and autonomy. Maybe Kacho's beast tried to warn her before the hands appeared but it had no body to do so at the time. So the best it can do is it's original function which is provide a container for the soul of either sister. Or at least a convincing simulacrum of the sibling. We're still not sure if that's really her or not but as you said it's not black and white. The beast only made moves to protect Halkenburg so it could accept it's own death as the cost to continue the mission.
>>
>>282976435
Obviously that wasn't his original plan, but now that the arrow chose him, he's out of options.
I mean, what else is he going to do? Magically escape from Benjamin after poisoning him, and while a martial law is going on and he has barely any time left, gather his guards or some other people somehow, make them believe he is Halkenburg, get into his mother quarters somehow, and then throw arrows until he switches with the baby with which he will have to share the body through his whole life unless they keep Balsa body with the baby's soul alive somehow for years and years until it ends up dying anyways?
That's extremely contrived and pretty much impossible to make happen.
He's done, he said so himself
>Being a soul who is not afraid of self-sacrifice for the greater good must be the requirement for participating in my Ability
He's ready to die, this was always Halkenburg's biggest weakness, to think the king must be on the same level as anyone else. He's to nice for his own good and doesn't understand what being a king is, the king is not on the same level as his subordinates or the people, the king is above all.

Yeah. Halkenburg was ready to kill himself when he realized he couldn't force Nasubi's hand. His mindset is dangerous and even Zhang's guards clocked that after a single conversation that the best way to beat him was to pit his ideals against his goals. Right now Halkenburg is going scorched earth on the whole system.

Not only that, but he has no reason to believe Unma or Benjamin's child will dismantle the monarchy after he's gone. Certainly his followers have no reason to trust them. He also has no reason to believe Benjamin can kill all the princes. They have GSBs and are swarming with hunters. Halkenburg isn't retarded.

>>282978309
No. The boat ride is two months long and several characters are embroiled in activities which take days or weeks to see through. The succession can't end in a 12 hour stretch on the 13th day.

This is a problem anons have had since this arc began. You guys see where you are, see the end goal, and then draw a straight line from one to the other and go, "Yup, that's how it'll play out!" That's why you keep getting dumbfounded by flashbacks and card games and Beyond bastards. This arc has barely begun.

I Jokingly said Benjamin would be king after a couple decades of aging up in an infants body. What made you think I even implied things would wrap up quickly?
>>
>>282978543
Yes, it sounded like a good idea because it's a great excuse to put armed soldiers into everyone's quarters and shot down the hell out of everyone.
You seem under the idea the he had to switch with someone else but it's completely unfounded.
Not only they would notice him activating the power and that he is alive, throwing away the whole charade away, but with hundreds if not thousands of followers, he could throw a thousand arrows and still not switch with anybody else.
And on top of that, we know that he poisoned Benjamin, so he must gone back to Ben's room under Balsamilco and release the poison right at his side, it's the only way he could have done that.
>>
What is the arrow thing Halkenburgs beast ability or is own ability? Because Camilla, Benjamin, and Tsen each have their own ability alongside their GSB

If Halkenburg has another ability then he might survive this

His own but it synergizes with his beasts ability. Think about how Golem summons a gun but the aura is provided by the ride-along partner. Halkenburg makes the gun and the beast draws the aura from the followers.
>>
>>282979361
The arrow is his own ability. Made OP by his beast cause his beast grants him a huge amount of aura. I don't think he can use his own ability without his beast and his followers.
>>
>>282975658
>the moment he was chosen by the arrow and changed with Balsamilco it was game over for Halkenburg
Wasnt it already over because of the poison?
>>
>>282979543
He chose to poison himself after switching bodies.
>>
>>282978954
ESL-kun, Halkenburg didn't kill himself just so he could poison Benjamin. This is one of the smartest characters in the series, his IQ isn't double digits like yours.

as long as he releases his notes for Dark Continent (if they exist), I'll be satisfied. Better would be hiring an artist to finish but I don't see that happening.

I think it's not just the back pain, you have to be somewhat insane to stick to a regular publication schedule for years and years. Most of the ones that finish a long-ish series don't come back to publication for a few years, if they come back at all. As much frustration that I have with HxH, I get it.

It’s pretty bad but nowadays it isn’t as bad as it was in Togashi’s time. Digital art + assistants doing digital art can cut down on time spent working. It isn’t any worse than any other wage slave working 10 hours a day. There’s even mangaka working a relatively normal schedule nowadays
>>
What will be the big shock/surprise of this batch?
>>
>>282986488
Mafia/Spider conflict will finally overlap with the succession.
Zhang Lei fleeing downward towards the protection of Heinrigh.
Morena begins making big moves somehow despite Borksin's reluctance and unknown specialty.
Spiders have found Hisoka in T1 and will make a play at stealing the succession ritual treasures.
Kurapika.
>>
I think Halkenburg’s fate will be that he will shoot his soul into Benjamin’s baby, but then Benjamin will obviously fail at killing all the princes, effectively eliminating Halkenburg from the contest. This arc is Togashi’s thesis on what it means to live, so there are going to be characters that won’t die but instead suffer ironic consequences that end their lives’ ambitions. That’s why I think Benjamin will survive here but end up arrested instead.

I'm sorry, when he does what now? I haven't been following the theorycrafting very closely, so where the hell did this idea come from?
>>
>>282989323
His GSB hasn't done anything so people think it might be able to save him from the poison somehow. His Nen ability is a pun on Benjamin Button, the story about a guy who ages backwards. The GSB's design references him having a baby (one very large mouth and one very small mouth). So some people are speculating his GSB's ability actually involves some kind of soul swapping with his baby. The fact it perches on him like Halkenburg's does and the two have been juxtaposed as opposites by Togashi leads some credence to it having an ability something like that.

Personally I think that'd be kind of silly, but I think something similar to it will happen.

There’s also this page where Togashi ends Nasubi's succession war monologue with a shot of Benjamin and his beast as he declares that only a “single blessed child” will be left at the end. The term translated as "blessed child" in japanese is 御子 (miko), which literally means "honorable child" or "divine child". It’s the same word used in expressions like 神の御子 (Kami no Miko) ("the Son of God" referring to Jesus) and 天皇の御子 (Tennou no Miko) ("the Emperor’s child"). This further reinforces the reincarnation aspect of the theory.

Is there anything to talk about anymore?
Even if they, one day in the far future, get off the boat full of people there was never any reason to care about... how could the dark continent possibly live up to the hype?
I think it's probably better to say it ended with Gon's healing. The kakin succession shit, Beyond's hunt, Kurapika's asspull life sacrifice powers and his hunger for pickled eyeballs, mafia nonsense, troupe and clown interplay... it's the realm of fanfiction now.
Let it go, bros.

>Gon/killua fags
no such thing, we just call them 2011trannies. they would be the first to praise this arc to high heavens if it ever gets adapted. animeonly fags in general are incapable of critical thinking and like to follow "trends". the chimera ant arc was the last true hxh trend in normalfagsphere, and gon and killua were big there so they simply can't move on from them, no matter how good or well written the post anime material is, it doesn't and won't matter. the manga for them is simply seen as "not trendy" therefore not "exciting" or "interesting". plus they probably also can't read it anyway. i say just ignore them. there's no point in wasting energy or trying to have a discussion with morons.

The Spiders are far from reaching Tier 2. Kuroro is gonna make his way up soon but I don't think he will meet Hisoka yet. IIRC Bonorenof has been asked by Kuroro to hide or change Tier.
>>

I’m not as extreme in my opinion of them, but yea, this feels like a true thing for anime focused or only group for any manga. It’s so weird.
I’m guessing it’s because , at least in the west, way more people watch media than read, which means by default you’re gonna attract more normies (no negative connotation when I use it)
>>
>>282993689
Hisoka vs the spiders haven’t not started yet is crazy. I’m sure we’ll get the Bono fight but I don’t see how Togashi can properly resolve Hisoka, Kurapika, Chrollo, Tserrienich, Morena’s, haleknburg, Benjamin, Kacho:Fugetsu, etcs arcs all in 50 chapters. Not to mention shit like longhi and beyond’s kids, Nasubi, Kaizer.

If 50 chapters is all we have left for this arc , Togashi must utilize the greatest pacing in manga history
>>
>>282993939
>If 50 chapters is all we have left for this arc
we don't know how many chapters the whole arc is going to have, for all we know, in 50 chapters we could still be in the boat, but have arrived at the refuel station, before entering real dark waters, where certain characters will probably abandon the ship and return to the v6, while others will board it to conclude the succession contest and maybe even start the preparations for expedition arc at that point or something like that.
The departure of the black whale was in chapter 359, it has been 51 chapters to basically cover just two weeks so far from a two month trip to the new continent, tho, we can expect a much faster pacing now that it seems all the important characters have been set up.
