KnY is legitimately good and /a/ used to like it too, it is just the contrarians wanting to feel special by not liking whatever is popular with the masses. There are also people who surprisingly don't understand the story and think the entire series is about fights, which they dislike, notice that whenever they come to criticize the manga, all they talk about are fights and the power system, completely missing the point.

>>282935729Kny is good (great in some aspects), and I think it's one of the better shounen series. It's not perfect, there are definitely things I would have personally rewritten or changed, but as an overall package, it's significantly better than most shounen series out right now. One thing I really appreciate is how simple it is. It doesn't try to be complex or hard to understand, and it doesn't try to be daring or do something unique (which I guess is a bad thing to some people?). It's good at being simple and easy to follow, without taking too much risks, and I think a large part of that is why it attracts so many people. I only have one major criticism with it honestly, and that's the censorship. There are many points where pantyshots are obscured, either through conveniently placed foreground objects, body parts, dishonest camera angles, or blatant black voids. This trend has started becoming a plague more and more lately, and it negatively affects series like this. It's the only thing keeping it from being a 10/10 for me.
