It's been four years since I watched Code Geass and I still don't understand why Charles was laughing like a maniac during the Euphy massacre
>>282953338He didn't think Lelouch had the makings of a varsity terrorist.
>>282953338>>282953405The Euphy massacre, whatever happened there . . .
>>282953338He pretended to be Geass’d (despite his Code making him immune) and shot himself in the chest just to mess with Lelouch. Guy has a dickish sense of humor
And the Geass Order, where are they now?
>>282953338He saw his son was as ruthless as he was and was proud
Wakamoto just enters the booth to yell things and they animate around it.
The World of C stuff was bullshit and Charles was much better when he actually was a ruthless Darwinist. The entire "it was all a ruse" thing in R2 was one of that season's dumber things, and that's saying something because R2 gave it a lot of competition.
>>282954183I don't think it was entirely a ruse. I think telling Lelouch "actually we're really nice people who love everyone :)" was just to try and manipulate him into accepting their plan. Charles' interests are still entirely self serving so he doesn't need to have been truthful about his intentions when explaining them to Lelouch since he was lying
Charles represented the audience going “Holy shit the absolute madman”.
>>282953338The writers didn't either yet.
Because it was based as fuck
>>282953338He was proud that his son was as much of a psychopath as he is
>>282954243Nonetheless I think it's pretty telling that the finale isn't Lelouch vs Charles in the World of C, it's Lelouch vs Schneizel for control of the planet. Political maneuvering and military battles for world domination are how Code Geass ends, as if the writers themselves realized on some level that the whole World of C thing was a distraction from what always really made the show work.
>>282953338he was reacting to the show with all of us
>>282954183These two were such disappointments I can't help but think they made them garbage just to make Lelouch killing his parents based like these two in the end turned out to be nothing more than brain rot cultists to an imaginary god they gaslite themselves into believing existed like what the fuck, the only character I don't hate in the end is the ninja maid and her delicious ass they showed us when she was fighting Orange
>>282954183Are you going elaborate on why it was dumb or nah
>>282955491Social Darwinists get salty when the cool mouthpiece characters are given depth that critiques their ideas and are made to look like hypocritical losers
>>282954961Not necessarily, calling it a distraction implies it was unnecessary or unconnected to the conflict with Schneizel. If you view it through the temporal lens of Charles as the past, Schneizel as the present and Lelouch as the future, then the order it happened was crucial.Rejecting the viewpoint of Charles was first out of necessity, opposing Scheizel's view built upon that thematically to arrive at the ultimate conclusion. Lelouch won't force humanity into the past, nor will he keep them in stasis at the present, but instead gives them freedom to choose their own future.
if you try to find logic in anything that happened in R2 you go more insane than Orange-kun
>>282955456>turned out to be nothing more than brain rot cultists to an imaginary god that's pretty reductive, they wanted to unite all of humanity in peace and perfect understanding and they were acting on a plan to make it so, you can oppose them for the sake of freedom while understanding where they are coming from and why that might be attractive to some
>>282954143I could easily see this lol
RRRRLLLLLLLLSHUSHUUUUUUUUUUU
charles was a lucky man
I love Corny bros
>>282957753I loved that they make you headcanon Marianne as a classic dead but loving protag mother since you obly know her from Lelouch's grief stricken perspective and then it turns out she'a easily the coldest sociopath of the verse. "Oh yeah Charles had to blind our baby daughter because it was more convenient whoops, also I wouldn't have cared if either of you died tehehe, anyways can your gf die for me now, I don't want to ruin the life of a Knight of Rounds for nothing"
>>282953338Don't worry, neither do the writers.
>>282957856She was so disappointing in part 2
>>282955456>nothing more than brain rot cultists to an imaginary god they gaslite themselves into believing existed like what the fuck>brain rot cultists>gasliteCollective (un)consciousness is not comparable to whatever garbage you've exposed yourself to on social media, ESL-kun.
>>282953338Great scene
It's kind of funny how Lelouch repeatedly ruins Suzaku's life, sometimes on purpose but sometimes without even meaning to. I don't think he had any idea that Suzaku and Euphie were in love when he shot her.
You guys really seem to hate R2 despite it having better pacing than the first and a better ending than whatever bullshit they pulled on the last episode of the first season , literally sopranos tier blueball and no one complained about it for some reason
>>282960880meh, watchmen was better
>>282960863Considering his intention to make Suzaku Nunnally's knight, he likely had a vague idea, but he also may have pushed it out of mind because of his own lingering attachment to Euphie.
>>282953645He was proud of him? Every son wants that.
>>282955797>and are made to look like hypocritical losersWhy would I want that? How does it give them depth?
>>282953619Didn't Lelouch wipe them out?
they didn't deserve lulu
>>282957753Who even is that supposed to be? It’s not Lelouch and it isn’t young Charles either
>>282955797Unsurprising, and here i was hoping anon had something to say.
>>282958416We need more shows with writers going ballistic with the characters. Makes for good entertainment.
>>282953338He's laughing because Lelouch has one of the most OP skills ever created and he doesn't use it to immediately end the entire series in epsiode 1.
>>282959397so was most other things anon. Idk what changed but it really was lackluster compared to s1
>>282960880>better pacing>having to go through an extrmely boring amnesia arcNah anon, R1 took breaks from time to time to show the effects the rebellion had on the common folk. Also the end of R1 was made with the same dumbass mindset that R2 had since was a quick rewrite to fit the 25 episodes instead of the original plan.
>>282962376Neither does CC honestly. She used him for her goals and had a change of mind at the last second
>>282954183Lelouch not fucking kallen is still the dumbest thing tho
>>282966249No, it was Lelouch not fucking Nunnally
>>282954183>2025>still pushing the meme that R2 was badDie in a fucking fire, eternal newfaggot.
>>282965734>since was a quick rewrite to fit the 25 episodesThey only had 25 episodes at first?
>>282954183They wanted to give the story more twists and layers and decided to copy eva. Japs also still hate the uk and us and having the combination of both countries fall because of glorious japan is just what they wanted. It also redeems lelouchs actions of being a mass murderer by showing that Charles was even worse and lelouch was saving humanity by killing everything in his unjustified rage.
>>282966757Fuck off
