The series works best with Anya as just the vehicle to have Yor or Loid do stuff/grow as people. The author/editors seem desperate to want it to just be the Anya show where Spy stuff/YorxLoid kinda happens but doesn't actually matter or progress the story meaningfully.Overall just feels like it is being milked due to the anime's surprising success or some Editor saw that it was most popular with families so decide to focus on Anya.Maybe the manga has changed course since what has currently been adapted, but the show just feels like safe filler that I won't regret watching in a season instead of being a standout like it used to.

Plot progression too slow and too many side character episodes.Having the focus be on the school stuff is fine because If anything Anya antics are the closest thing we have to a main plot, but it should also never just be Anya having a normal school life because there's plenty of other shows for that. Lloyd and Yor should be more active in the school plot trying to cheat on Anya's behalf while being unintentionally sabotaged by the other 2.

People were still optimistic about developments for the first 20 or so chapters, but then everyone slowly started to lose interest as it became very clear that the author had no intention of taking it anywhere.
