Who are you arguing with? Most people would agree the whole 'chosen one' aspect that was added to naruto ruined alot of the meaning of the plot.
One piece is also being ruined by that now. Why start a 'hardwork and dreams' manga just to have the main character actually be the destiny child.

If Naruto had been told that he's the fourth hokage's son and the child of prophesy by Jiraiya at that point and then telling Neji this he'd say something totally different because he's just a bitter contrarian.

Naruto didn't even disagree with him here.
He just didn't like Neji using fatalism as an excuse to just give up and not try at all. That there is no possibility you can't change your destiny.
