Given the properties of Tomie hair established in that one chapter where the girl puts it on herself, there's potential for a chapter plot where it's used as a cure for baldness. That being the case, what would happen to a man who applied it to themselves? would it turn them into another Tomie, or a Tomie(male)? alternatively, would it just take control of their brain instead of remaking their body, and turn them into a more invasively influenced Tomiesimp?

>>283054731Me in the middle looking dapper
>>283031930>blacked
>>283056255I finished it, it was interesting how the author presents himself within his own story. It kind of reminds me of a book that tells the story of an alcoholic writer with terrible luck with women, full of infidelities and affairs with his students. He’s basically a black hole that drags everyone into his misery. Eventually, he ends up in a mental asylum by his own choice because he can’t live on his own. There, he meets the devil, disguised as a doctor (or maybe it’s just a slightly strange doctor and the protagonist is simply completely schizophrenic). In the end, the protagonist finds peace in the mental hospital, and one day they let him go. When he leaves, he walks through a park full of white flowers, he’s alone, everything is completely silent, and at that moment, he meets a woman: a woman dressed in black with a flower in her mouth. She invites him to a quiet place where he will find peace, and he follows her.

Can we finally admit that Junji Ito only has about three tricks in his entire playbook? It's genuinely astounding that people still pretend this is deep or scary.Let's break down the formula, shall we?1. Introduce a mundane object or concept (hair, spirals, holes, fish).2. Have a character develop an "unexplainable" and "compelling" obsession with said object.3. Reveal the object is actually connected to some vague, poorly defined cosmic or geological anomaly.4. Draw a two-page spread of someone's body being grotesquely distorted by the object.5. End the story with zero explanation, allowing pseudo-intellectuals to masturbate over the "unknowable cosmic horror" of it all. It's the same story, every single time. It's not scary. It's not thought-provoking. It's a lazy, repetitive formula that relies on gross-out body horror and a complete refusal to write a coherent plot. You're not appreciating "peak horror," you're just falling for the same cheap jump-scare in a different costume, over and over again.

>>283031666its very delicate so it doesnt hold heavier sauces like classic red sauce or cream based sauces. imo its better tossed in a fragrant oil like garlic infused extra virgin olive oil, or maybe a salad accompaniment to make a angel hair pasta salad.

>>283057920What story is bottom right from?
>>283060471mimi stories. where she and her three friends meet a woman who looks like Toomie on a beach full of ghosts
>>283059176He’s got plenty of stories that break this mold. The monster woman, tomie, the sewn together lovers, the head balloons, souichi, the long dream. This is just off the top of my head. Even the stories that have similar themes, this hellstar uzumaki etc, have very different structures and characters. The girl in this story is much different from the hellstar remina girl and everyone involved is totally different from the uzumaki cast. That’s enough I think to diversify the similar stories enough. The similar ones are more about the characters anyway and less about the themes being deep. That’s more a target of his short stories.
>>283060555Thank you! I love evil beaches.
>>283055003Yeah. That's exactly how I always meditate
>>283060609spoilersi think that story is very interestingI think that beach was cursed, and that's why it kept the souls of the people who died there trapped. The woman they met... I don't think she's a ghost. She was too solid and literally worked at a business there.More like a witch or a monster like Tomie. Her true appearance was revealed in the photos, like Tomie, and she was more horrible than simple ghosts. I think she was the one who cursed the place.

>>283059176Can we finally admit that H.P. Lovecraft only had about three tricks in his entire playbook? It's genuinely astounding that people still pretend this is deep or scary.Let's break down the formula, shall we?1. Introduce some locality he was at or pulled out of his ass by reading up on it.2. Have a character be insane or go insane from contact with the locality and its denizens.3. Reveal it's all been some outer space god shit fuckery, if at all.4. Don't forget to thesaurus bash. Not even once.5. End the story with zero explanation, allowing pseudo-intellectuals to masturbate over the "unknowable cosmic horror" of it all. It's the same story, every single time. It's not scary. It's not thought-provoking. It's a lazy, repetitive formula that relies on fanciful wording and loose ends to avoid writing a coherent plot. You're not appreciating "peak horror," you're just falling for the same cheap pseudo intellectualism in a different costume, over and over again.
>>283059176>>283059176Can we finally admit that Stephen King only has about four tricks in his entire playbook? It’s honestly wild that people still act like this is the height of horror fiction.Let’s break down the formula, shall we?1. Set it in Maine. Always Maine. If it’s not Maine, it’s Maine with a fake name.2. Introduce a cast of small-town weirdos with dark secrets and traumatic childhoods.3. Sprinkle in one supernatural element that may or may not just be a metaphor for alcoholism, grief, or bad parenting.4. Add a writer character who is definitely not Stephen King.5. Wrap it up with a semi-coherent ending that feels like he got bored halfway through but kept typing anyway. It’s the same story, every single time. It’s not terrifying. It’s not profound. It’s an endlessly recycled loop of "What if evil—but small town New England?" dressed up in pages of internal monologue and pop culture references. You’re not witnessing the master of horror; you’re watching the literary equivalent of a jump scare that just happens to have a Bangor ZIP code.
Can we finally admit that Dowman Sayman only has about three tricks in his entire playbook? It's genuinely astounding that people still pretend this is funny or lewd.Let's break down the formula, shall we?1. Introduce a mundane place or concept (hotel, dreams, apocalypse, high school).2. Have a bunch of unrelated characters that either pretend to have some mystery to them or serve only to make a joke3. Reveal the chapters are all actually connected or just drop the plot entirely to focus on his yuri fetish.4. Draw all characters naked with a minimalist, monochrome style.5. End the story with zero explanation, allowing pseudo-intellectuals to masturbate over the brown loli maid cunny, or the shark teeth twintails girl. It's the same story, every single time. It's not funny. It's not lust-provoking. It's a lazy, repetitive formula that relies on dated references and a complete refusal to write a coherent plot. You're not appreciating "peak indoor exhibition space content," you're just falling for the same cheap gay manga in a different costume, over and over again.

>>283054787wtf naruto?
>>283054913this guys looks powerfullLike… Junji Ito’s witches usually have magic but are human. But this guy barely feels human. A comparison would be the transfer student who was too magical to be just a human, yet he was only curious and adventurous. This guy seems spiritually rotten

I admire that greatly. One of my ex-friends had a horrible family, is mentally ill and attempted suicide and is just about to finish up on his medicine degree next year. Meanwhile i've never had anything bad happen to me and i'm a NEET scum who has given up before even attempting anything.

>>283031560I only just caught up and finished No Longer Human. Yozo got everything he deserved. Also that’s a cool loco. Can any trainfags confirm if that’s accurate to the time period? It seems accurate to steam engines of the time at least.
>>283054731Danny Sexbang?
>>283081110not really a trainfag but I did a quick bit of digging>looked up Japanese steam locos on wikipedia>notice that the number plate on the face of the class D52 begins with D52>since the one in the manga has C58 at the start, looked up class C58https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JNR_Class_C58built between 1938 and 1947; retired in 1973there's no mention of a number 306 on wikipedia, so it was presumably scrapped

>>283076595Yeah. In a nutshell it's where everything that has happened, will happen and could happen is recorded. Not really a "place" but more of a state of mind that you can access. Ever have that Eureka moment on something you can't figure and then just suddenly clicks out of the blue? That's you momentary accessing the akashic records
>>283076595It's the record of everything has, will, or could happen in any possible permutation of existence. An infinite metaphysical archive of everything ever.

>>283031549By the way, the translation of the original Japanese title of Sensor is "Travelogue of the Succubus". That should give you some extra context on how Ito wanted to influence how you read this story.
