Back from the movie! It was a lot of fun and very kandou. Had to fight from laughing my arse off at several points (bloody silent Japanese cinemas). The main criticism is that while it wasn't disappointing, it felt pretty safe. It was mostly a collection of very charming scenes featuring the expected combinations of characters playing off each other and reacting to each other's quirks. You could write a book-length trivia page: Hinaki is the first Aikatsu idol to do a Making Drama; this is the first time anyone other than the members of iRis have done Realize!; Ran is the only member of Soleil not to get referred to by name; or that by a huge stretch of technicalities Akari and Aira shared the frame at one point.The irregularities with the timeline divergence were so great it was a shame not to see more. Idol Activities by Hoshimiya Pineapple when? Nonsuke had like three lines!I liked that Salami Slime doing Aikatsu training found climbing a cliff incredible, and that when in PriPara they climbed more than a third of Everest straight up including Fancy Mode Sophie. They did a good job of keeping the worlds feel grounded next to each other, though the wackiness of PriPara did feel a little reigned in.Hibiki and Juri made the best pairing for my money. Hibiki admiring a fellow genius who DOESN'T have a stupid gobi, doing her caliente routine alongside her, the rose toss, and a duet version of Pure Amore Ai featuring a Cyalume Change was all peak.The credits gags were excellent.
