>>283131618Well I don't actively analyze a series I'm watching/reading, I just pick up on those kinds of things if I like the story and I'm thinking about it a lot. Naturally you have more to say about stuff you love. An example of a scene I like to read critically is the one in Tatarigoroshi where Satoko tells Keiichi about the "true curse of Oyashiro-sama." She says that if you become a target of the curse then everyone you love will first be killed to put you into complete despair until you are begging for death yourself. The village generally hushes up any open talk of the curse, so it's a special moment of clarity where we see some of the believers' worst fears about it that don't get talked about. And you can see the pattern apply to each chapter where someone is "cursed" and sees people around them die, either through their own actions or circumstance, before dying miserably themselves. But I think the description applies best to Rika herself, who through each loop again and again sees her loved ones die, and is fearfully waiting for the end of her loops when she'll run out of power and die herself. So in that sense she's the truest victim of the curse. This all might just be a coincidence in the writing, but to see how the pattern holds within the confines of the chapter, then to each chapter in different ways, and then to the whole story overall, is very interesting to me.
