Call me a faggot but I liked how when it started it felt like there was gonna be a more political angle with the usurpation, the big four splitting up into factions, assassination attempts (that wasn't lol here are some dogs), as well as the seriousness of Bojji's isolation, Daida beating him with a stick, Domas losing a hand.But later it all feels too "shounen-y" with the training arc where Bojji becomes the world's strongest with a sword style that literally doesn't spill blood, Domas getting a perfectly functional robot hand, nobody ever dying (even the villains), factions being boiled down to just the good and bad side whereas before it felt like Daida usurping the throne wasn't just because he was dickhead but because Bojji was seen as a potentially bad king.
I feel like most agree that the back end of the anime was way weaker, not even just in story, but also animation, besides a few bits. Though rather than shouneny, people tended to compare it to a fairytale, the more modern versions.

>>283083762Yeah, you can tell the author was just slowly shifting as he went along and I'm pretty sure that he even said he shifted towards a more shounen tone towards the end of part 1. Personally I didn't mind a lot of the things that happened towards the end, but it was done pretty sloppily. I hope part 2 gets animated though because I wanna see Mehi animated.
